We at Drovingmate & Silverlock pride ourselves on breeding the Stumpy within the guidlines of the Australian Standard set by the ANKC,yet at the same time retaining the stumpys working ability for which they where breed.Dogs and bitches at Drovingmate kennels have been breed from some of the same lines of stumpys since 1968 and will not be breed from unless they have proven themselves worthy in the paddock & yards which is a breeding practice today lost by many.

I have had the honour to breed Stumpies for the past 14 years.My emphasis is on consistency of type and temperament.My dogs have proven themselves as workers, companions and show dogs.Every dog sold to a show home has gained its title.
This year, I have added Champions to my kennel and also added many B.O.B., Group wins and Best in Show to my record.Previous wins have included Puppy of Breed at Melbourne Royal, Best of Breed at Adelaide Royal and Reserve Challenge at Toowoomba Royal,2005, with a Minor Puppy bitch, now a Champion.
Recently I have had a pleasing result for Cumbydene Blue Gum, who qualified for Puppy of the Year, Queensland and I have been informed he is the first Stumpy to do this. Blue has attained in excess of 20 Class in Group, together with 4 Class in Show wins.With 2 Class in Show wins at qualifying Shows, Blue has done me proud.
In 2008, Ch Cumbydene Blue Gum attained Best of Breeds
at the EKKA with Ch. Cumbdene Lucky Strike taking reserve challenge
New successes for Cumbydene include Tis All About Me, Wish upon a star Migle Be Mine and Bogans Best.Young dogs with a big future!
My dogs come from excellewnt bloodlines,Notales, Yengari and Charlstud.They are proven in the ring, as workers and as companion dogs.

My first Aust Stumpy Tail Cattle Dog came to live with me in 2007 not long after loosing my 15yr old Aust Cattle Dog.
'Casper' Aust Ch Studholme Mallee Ghost has been a joy to have around.

She has a fun loving personality, with a very big sense of humour. She is a quick learner, although yet to start her agility trialling career (mostly due to lack of time on my part) but does at times give me that typically stumpy tail attitude. She is fantastic with the little dogs (Italian Greyhounds) and a great companion to the German Shorthaired Pointers.

Casper had her 1st litter (6 girls and 3 boys born 5/11/2010). They have all gone to their new homes but keep your eye out for her and her daughter around the shows.

My aim is to produce sound puppies with personalities that will suit all types of lifestyles.

Our next litter will possibly be sometime during 2013.
