I have been brought up with Cocker Spaniels through out my childhood and been involved in the showing and breeding of them for many years. I don't think I will ever be without a cocker this breed has definitely stolen my heart. I only aim to breed quality true to standard cocker puppies using quality bloodlines with clear tested profiles that have been in my family for years with the addition of quality selected imported bloodlines to further enhance our lines and breeding regime. My puppies are raised in my own home amongst my children who adore them as I did growing up. I am not a big breeder as my lifestyle doesn't allow however on the odd occasion I may have a litter and will only offer my puppies to forever loving homes. We do not do waiting lists as we have found people dont keep us updated. All enquiries are screened to make sure they understand the breed and can fit into new potential owners lifestyle, to ensure they go to forever cocker loving homes and to hopefully prevent our puppies requiring rehoming down the track. Our puppies are only offered as pets on limited register. Main register puppies can be considered for the right person in some circumstances.

I have been a very successful exhibitor and breeder of other breeds during my 50 plus years in the dog world. I have always ensured if I bred my show dogs, it was to improve the breed. During my exhibiting years, judges would import their stock and place in my care knowing I am a person of integrity, honesty always. I stepped back from exhibiting when I married the love of my life and became absorbed in our Optometry practice. My Hubby knew how much I missed the dog world and purchased our Daisy, so we have a beautiful Golden Cocker Spaniel and her confirmation encouraged me to want to breed her and hopefully produce show quality Cockers.I did my homework and FULL DNA testing to ensure no genetic health issues exist. It will always be my intention to individually DNA ALL puppies ( full DNA, not just parentage) and provide these results to adopting families. We are so very proud to be involved in the world of purebred dogs and Cocker Spaniels are our passion.

We live in the Western Downs where we breed and raise beef cattle. I have grown up with dogs. I fell in love with the breed as a child and now my own family get to experience the love of a Cocker Spaniel.

Our dogs are pets and family members first and foremost, and occasionally we will get to the dog show (just that distance is a factor being a good 5 hour drive to most events).

We have started out the way we intend to continue - breeding and exhibiting from the best we can. Our dogs are hip and elbow scored, tested for AON, and have Orivet Breed Profile testing via DNA for prcd-PRA, AHRN (FN), AMS and colour genetics.

From a childhood love of the companionship of cocker spaniels, to being adults and parents with a deep appreciation and love of the gentle nature of this breed with children, we have been in love with cockers for 35 years, but have only just stepped up to gain a prefix and begin our breeding journey as registered breeders

Lavinto Kennels is located on the Sunshine Coast in Southeast Queensland. We are a small family-based Kennel operating from our home where all of our dogs are first and foremost our pets and much-loved members of our family. The Fishington prefix was established in 2021, although we are new we have the utmost passion for cockers spaniels. I am a show exhibitor and select breeder of solid English Cocker Spaniels (Black, Gold and Black and Tan).

My aim is to breed healthy cocker spaniels of the highest quality, temperament and type. To further improve my breeding program, I have imported dogs from both the UK and France. Puppies are bred to produce quality show dogs and to improve the breed, hence I only have limited litters. From these litters however, puppies may be available as loving family companions. Puppies are lovingly raised in our home and well socialised.

Puppies are sold on "Limited Register" which means that they cannot be shown or bred with.

The Limited Register still allows them to compete in dogs sports such as agility, obedience, tracking, Dancing with Dogs, Gundog retrieving and field trials etc.

Of utmost importance is the health and well being of my dogs. At Carawood all my dogs are DNA tested for the main hereditary problems in the breed. Selective and careful breeding ensures that none of my dogs will ever inherit these diseases: PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy), FN (Familial Nephropathy) and AON (Adult Onset Neuropathy).

I am a committee member of the Cocker Spaniel Club of Victoria and actively involved with the club.
