Boldfolk Kennels was established in 1989 by myself and my parents, May and Bill Bowden, but we have owned Rough Collies since 1960.

In 2004 we aquired Kazjs Petticoats Showin, aka " Phoebe", a stunning tricolour bitch. Phoebe was certified Normal Eyed by Opthamology .Phoebe was Hip Scored by Professor B Wyburn.
Her result was; 0:0, International Grade = A, Excellent.
Phoebe has points towards her Australian Champion Title and is a multiple Class In Group Winner( All Breeds Open and Ch.shows).

In 2006 Phoebe was mated to the stunning Ch Zealotry King O Spells and two lovely Sable bitches were born.We retained a stunning shaded Sable named Boldfolk Amazing Grace,aka"Gracie".
"Gracie" was certified Normal Eyed by Opthamology, just like her Mum.

In July 2006 I elected to retire from showing & breeding collies. The politics, antics & unpleasantness involved at shows made that choice far too easy.

As my foundation I imported only proven champions & champion producing stock, from the very best American kennels. At LochWind I believed in selectively breeding for enduring quality, not just for the next show ring trend. I never felt the need to play the numbers game, breeding only five litters in six years, a number many claiming to be small breeders produce every year. I offered genuine, collies with wonderful movement & temperament. These collies won purely on their merits, according to the standard, no matter who was on the end of the lead ! Their results spoke for themselves. Consider their consistent achievements at the 3 biggest shows in WA. The Western Classic, Winter Festival & Perth Royal Show.

Did they have anything left to prove ? I really don't think so !

2011- Our imports' names now stand out in the pedigrees of many top winning collies shown by ... Burdekin, Kazjs, Swinbrad, Vedamea, Arranbrae, Bewitching, Highclere, Kilcoy & Collieston etc.

I acquired my 1st Collie Rough in 1986, a lovely Sable & White Edenvale Reality better known as 'Misty' via S:Brackenlea Be Intrepid x D:Brackenlea Be A Vision. Later I added 2 Jasandway girls + a Brattanbrea fellow.. these were followed later by Izkaze lines and later again a Rodchere fellow, whom I titled. More recently we have had a striking Tricolour fellow from Roxedo join us + a glorious Blue Merle fellow from Bluemorn both of these fellows bring international bloodlines into our kennels and we have had superb puppies from both of them.

Having been inspired by my late Grandmothers passion for the breed and also my love of LASSIE Movies I have tried to over the years strive to breed Classic Collies that I have lovingly raised in country Victoria. I love all 3 colours and on occasion puppies are available in Blue Merle, Tricolour or Sable & White. My Collies come vaccinated etc; also with a written guarantee + much love attached to them all.
