Keysteel puppies are born and raised in a farming area and are well known in the ring and also for their hunting abilities. All breeding stock are hip xrayed and eye tested prior to breeding. Our next litter is not planned until late 2010 but already we have orders for quality puppies. At Keysteel we pride ourselves on breeding puppies that meet the breed standard. We do not breed large quantities but we do breed quality puppies.This is being shown in the number of puppies that we have bred that are winning both here and overseas. Temperament as well as confirmation is also important to us.

We live right on the Murray River in Echuca so our curlies are in the perfect environment for their true love of swimming, retrieving, hunting and being in the open outdoors. I have been actively involved with dogs and the wonderful Curly since 1997; Markable's selective breeding progrram rates temperament and physical health as paramount. Markable Curlies are cherished companions; participating joyfully and successfully in Conformation Showing, Obedience, Agility, Jumping, and Retrieving; with titles attained in all disciplines. My dogs are all accomplished retrievers on land and from water. Markable Curlies are used as Assistance dogs and have PAT (public access test) assessment accreditation's. I have successfully trained Markable Curlies as Diabetic and Epilepsy Alert Dogs and for PTSD, ASD and Physical Disabilities. All dogs are health-screened and DNA tested to gauge their suitability prior to breeding. All Markable dogs and puppies are in-home reared and raised on a natural RAW diet. Breed, puppy rearing and behavioural information is willingly provided and ongoing contact encouraged. Markable Kurrujong (pictured)) is a trained AD and a School Therapy Dog. We added a Lagotto Romagnolo to our home as a smaller Assistance Dog in 2019. Bassi is a Medical Alert Dog. Bea the Murray River River joined us in 2022 from Barokamurray Victoria. Previously Teandjah Kennels. We have recently started breeding and showing Curly Coated Retrievers again. We have been involved with the breed for over 20 years both in the show ring and obedience. Even during our 10 year break we have always had Curly Coated Retrievers as part of our family.

All of our curlies have wonderful temperaments and are very happy to be around people and will make great family pets. We believe that our curlies should be sound and of good substance and suitable for all types of homes. They should also have a suitable coat that belies their name.

Our dogs have good hip scores and are DNA tested for genetic diseases like PRA & EIC.

We are situated approx. 1 hour north east of Adelaide.

Our dogs are well socialised and interact well with people and other dogs.

Since our introduction to the breed in 1992, Curlies have become a big part of our family. We aim to maintain the multi purpose abilities of the breed with our dogs having roles as working gundogs,conformation show dogs, obedience/agility competitors, therapy dogs and loyal family pets.
Our puppies are raised in a home environment on a rural property on the Kapiti coast. We only breed very selectively and for ourselves so puppies may occasionally be available to the right homes. Health, temperament and correct conformation are our paramount aims when we undertake to breed a litter.
