Visiting on lease from Avril Stoffels of Anduril Kennels is Ch Anduril Tam O Shanters Meg. Meg has been campaigned and titled during her visit, winning a Best in Group along the way! We are anticipating the long-awaited arrival of babies from Meg & Scrappy in early March 2012.

Thank you to Glenda and Chris of Bhealaich Kennels and Avril of Anduril Kennels for trusting me with these beautiful Deerhounds.

Our Deerhounds are campaigned in the Canberra, Sydney and surrounding districts.

Our dogs are tested by a Veterinary Cardiologist for ALL forms of cardiac disease, including DCM and ARVC, using echo and proBNP.

Breeding for type, soundness and temperament,Our deerhounds are Multi Best of Breed and Challenge winners at Sydney Royal for the last eight years. The 2005 The Best of Breed at Brisbane Royal with our Ch. Weirskints Brighid Roo. In all breeds shows they have achieved in show Best in Group and in group awards. The Puppies are bred for type, temperament and soundness. Their sweet nature will make them excellent family pets.

Breeding for Type, Balance, Soundness and Temperament. We are proud of our dogs achievments not only as top winning show dogs but also for their loyal companionship and as personal and family pets. The hounds share 13 acres in rural Victoria with, horses, a moo and our Chinese Cresteds.They keep fit by enjoying a run in the bush and swimming in the dam.

We have had Deerhounds now for over 4 years and have fallen totally under their spell and could not imagine ever being without them. The fact that the breed is still very true to it's origins was one of the things that attracted us to them.

Their wonderful loving, laidback personality and unflappable temperament makes it a joy to share our lives with them.

The Deerhounds also live with our beautiful Rhodesian Ridgebacks so there is always someone to play with not to mention Cinder the cat & Colt our Border collie/Red cattle dog.

Even though we have only really shared our home with a Deerhound since early 2003, our interest in this ancient and elegant breed sprung from a family history with the breed dating back to 1960’s, and a familiarity with lines which have unfortunately been extinguished by time.
We have had dogs all our lives, initially as family pets, moving into the field and show-ring with gundog breeds,as well as training and competing in Obedience, Agility & Jumping, Tracking and Endurance.

We have been showing and breeding hounds since 1972. In 1988 we acquired our first Borzoi followed in 1989 by a Deerhound. Due to business commitments and time constraints with showing and breeding our Andalusians and Miniature Horses, we exhibit our dogs only sparingly. Despite this we have done well in the showring. In 1994 we imported frozen semen from Fernhill Deerhounds in Canada and, in 2006, a Deerhound from Thistleglen in the USA. All our dogs are housedogs and part of the family.
