Kieserhund German Shepherds are bred specifically for temperament, although I aim to breed good looking dogs my main purpose is to breed sound dogs in health and temperament with a desire to work. Most of all breeders pups go to pet homes with only a small percentage going in the show ring, so I feel that temperament is of the utmost importance as these pups will be around children and families and need to be very sound in character, trustworthy, loyal and protective.
All Kieserhund puppies are raised in a family environment, are well socialised and temperament tested prior to going to their new homes, I hand pick each puppy to suit each new owner and offer ongoing help and advice. I was a committee member of the German Shepherd Dog Club of Qld for 3 years aiding in improving the breed and responsible ownership. Kieserhund has been awarded the bronze medal for dogs bred and put through the German Shepherd National Council Hip and Elbow Scheme.We have also been awarded "Accredited Breeder" status with Dogs Australia (Canine Control Council of Queensland)for meeting the required Veterinary, Health & Welfare, buyer and breeder recommendations. She was the Reserve Baby Siegerin in 2011 and Reserve Junior Siegerin in 2012 being beaten by her litter sister both times at the Qld State Breed Evaluations and And I'm proud of her Puppy In Show win qualifying her for the prestigious event. We are a small and select kennel.

We believe that the most important aspect of the German Shepherd is temperament. We pride ourselves on not only owning but breeding dogs with excellent temperament that can be part of any family whether with young children or the elderly.

Our dogs are all brought up in an environment of being pets first and show dogs second, all our dogs interact well with other dogs, children and in different environments. They are extremely friendly, outgoing and have been easy to train whether obedience or show. Our kennel is slowly growing and we have recently acquired some excellent bloodlines that we did not previously have and now own several imported dogs and bitches.

We will continue to add new bloodlines to our kennel, whether through our breeding program or importing new animals, as our aim is to contribute to the betterment of the breed in Australia.

We comply with all the guidelines of the Australian National Kennel Council, the GSD Club of Queensland and the Canine Control Council (now Dogs Queensland) by having all our dogs x-rayed for both hips and elbows and breed surveyed.

We also ensure that we only use stud dogs of high caliber, good bloodlines and excellent temperament. Our results in the show ring are also starting to speak for themselves, even though we do not do a massive amount of showing.

Vonehrlich Kennels were started by Helen & I in 1974 to breed quality animals for Show and Obedience and this is still our objective. In pursuing this passion we have imported dogs from Germany, including Vasall vom Kirschental,who is one of the best bred dogs to come to Australia and his bloodlines are found behind many current prominent GSD's.Most of our breeding stock is related to this sire.
Over the years we have produced many excellent graded dogs including National Bronze Medal winners - Vonehrlich Pasha, Vonehrlich Sonia and a National Reserve Challenge winner - Vonehrlich Elke.We have trialled in the obedience ring to excellent medallion standard.
Vonehrlich Sassi was judged Best Intermediate Dog at the 2018 National Show in a class of 39.
We are members of the German Shepherd Dog Club Of Qld for over forty five years and abide by their Code of Ethics.I am a past President and Life Member of this Club.
We value our many repeat clients and welcome contact from lovers of this magnificent breed.

Our dogs are our passion and first priority in all respects and we do not breed our animals to carry out guard type duties in any aspect. We only want our dogs to go to life long homes that will love and care for them as though they are one of the family.

I have been breeding German Shepherds for some years. I originate from Belgium and have been a dog handler in the army there. I fell in love with this breed due to their minds.. They are intelligent dogs, that, with the right handling, make a valued addition to any family or premises. I specialise in the working bloodlines, due to my army experience, and creating a partnership with the dogs.
