Yarramo was established in January 1974 when Tony & Marg Norton commenced breeding & exhibiting Cocker Spaniels, but Marg's first registered Cocker Spaniel Bunyarra Sea Shanty was her 15th birthday gift from her parents in 1969. Tony purchased his first Gundog in 1971 a Labrador Retriever Donabee Duck Diver for his hobby of Retrieving. Their love of Irish was always there with the introduction of their first Irish girl Ch Highperelle Clamity Jane in 1991. From this foundation girl they have many Australian Champions & to date 6 Grand Champions. Their New Zealand import NZ Grand Ch & Aust Grand Ch Lanascol Kiwi Encounter (imp NZ), is back home after a short stay in NZ with his breeder Carolyn Cederman. He held Top Gundog for most of that year in NZ. HAKA is the FIRST & ONLY Irish Setter to hold both a NZ Grand Ch & Aust Grand Ch Title. His daughters (Dam: Aust Grand Ch Yarramo Lauda O'Malley) Aust Grand Ch Yarramo Minerva & Ch Yarramo Nemesis are certainly a quality pair with Minerva gaining her Grand Champion Title 2 weeks after her father in January. I got involved in showing in the 70's when my parents showed Cocker Spaniels and Irish Setters ... I took up showing myself in the early 80's after I was married starting with Cockers and then changing to Irish Setters ... I started with a dog (Ch Ardglen Lord Waverley CD) and a bitch (Ch Vinbelda Tarrin) who were neglected by their previous owners .... these two beautiful dogs produced some lovely puppies and from there I was totally hooked on the Red Dogs ... I have shown many different breeds over the years both for myself and other people but I always had the Irish ... Ill health has restricted my showing abilities in recent years but I still love to see my dogs shown ...

I have had Irish Setters since the early '70's in the United States. And have trained them for field, obedience, agility and show. I moved to Australia in June 2003 and brought 4 Irish with me. I had one litter in July 2004 from Au.Ch.Roan Inish Molly Finn (Imp.USA) X Au.Gr. Ch. Gaileas Winner Takes All. And another in June 2006 from Au. Ch. Cianroninnis Winter Wind and Am. Ch. Windrose Impressive "Sage" (Imp USA). Wendy just had another litter December 5th 2010, waiting for the DNA on one of the sires; listed below. Ch.Cianroninnis Winter Wind has had a dual mating with Am.Ch. Windrose Impressive (Imp USA) "Sage" and Ch Highperelle Dev's Fortune "Arizona". Puppies due early December. All inquiries welcome, will be taking reservations with deposits for puppies now. As this should be a very nice litter and from strong lines. "Sage" is a very impressive mover and is just a stunning dog, grandson to "Hooligan" of WindRose Farm Kennel. "Arizona" what a handsome dog beautiful coat stunning head. From a very limited breeding program, Gwyndara Irish Setters have made an impact on both sides of the Pacific with Gwyndara Irish producing in excess of 30 American Champions to date. American Ch. Gwyndara Southern Cross (Imp. Aust.) has the honour of being the only Australian Irish Setter to be on the Irish Setter Club of America's Register of Merit for having produced a minimum of 20 American Champions. In Australia Gwyndara champions and grand champions have won at every level of the sport. We salute Ch. Gwyndara Who's That Girl who produced 15 champions, including 4 Grand Champions and 1 American Champion and we enjoyed watching her great, great grandson win Best in Sweepstakes, Reserve Winners Dog and Best Puppy in Show at this year's Irish Setter Club of America National Specialty at 6 months of age.

Our lovely bitch "Eirean Desert Fire" (Enya) has whelped 12 beautiful frozen semen babies on 05/02/09 by "American Champion Pure Geniuse By Clonageera". Enya is the mother of of 'Ch Eirean Secret Affair'(Tryst). Tryst gained her Australian Champion title at just 12 and a half months, was Victorian Irish Setter "Bitch Of The Year" in 2006, and is a lovely example of the breed, perfectly handled by Jazmyn Wray. We have great hopes for many of these new lovely puppies making it to the ring in the near future. Please refer to breed profiles of both Tryst and Enya for further information. Enya is also the mother of "Eirean Secret Liaison" (Clinton) who is just starting a career in the agility ring.

My dogs are consistent winners at shows, including Best of Breed at the Perth Royal show for the past 5 years. Due to family commitments, however, we no longer show as often as we'd like. We fell in love with this happy go lucky loving breed and over time Rio (Glennara Cabriolet) and then Cherri (Glennara Moonlight Shadow) arrived, both from Katrina Hall (Glennara) whose temperaments, expressions and soundness were my ideal. Our Irish are from full UK bloodlines all going back to the very influential sire Sh Ch Kerryfair Night Fever. They are all hereditary CLAD and PRA rcd-1 clear. Our dogs have always lived in the house as part of the family as there is nothing they love more than to cuddle up on the sofa to watch tv!

I then also bought a female from Rhuboda and bred my first litter in 1992. Since then I have owned Irish Setters from the Kelliher, Brazenwinds, Linleymvorne and Nanyima Kennels. In 2010, I imported Millcroft Moon Dreamer (Bridget) from the UK. Bridget was born in Gloucester, England at the long established Millcroft Kennel. Although I haven’t bred another litter, I am keen to start my new program with Bridget in 2013. I am currently showing Bridget and Clancy (Nanyima City Clan).
