Lyngala established in Victoria in 1979, with our wonderful show cats (long haired), in 1980 we joined the KCC (now the VCA) and we added dogs to our life, in 1982 we received our breeders certificate, and registered the name "Lyngala Kennels". Dogs have taken over our life and we no longer show our cats. We have continued our unbroken devotion and dedication in our chosen passion/hobby/love. We have been breeding and showing Lhasa Apsos since 1970. We do not have many litters, but we breed for type and temperament and our babies are house reared and have to share with a cat, a male Tibetan Terrier and a female Lhasa Apso. Rod has his Championship license for Groups 5, 6 and 7 and has judged in Denmark, England and a number of times in New Zealand plus Australia.

We are always willing to talk to anyone interested in this fascinating Tibetan breed.

At Tico we have a long association with show dogs, we started our love of dogs and showing in the UK with our wonderful Afghan Hounds 36 years ago. In 2001 we moved our family and our dogs to Australia and settled in the picturesque country city of Taree NSW. After a health issue I was forced to down size my dogs and this lead me to the Lhasa Apso. We fell in love with the Lhasa Apso and we were very excited to acquire our first Lhasa Apso from Lyngala Lhasa Apsos. Aust Ch Lyngala Lotus Blossom (aka Blos) has become the foundation for our Tico Lhasa Apsos.

In 2009 we imported our foundation dog from the UK, a son of the 2009 BOB Crufts winner. Damjoz King Douie at Tico Imp UK (aka Douie).

I have been raised in a very pet friendly home and always had contact with dogs. My favourite breed is the Lhasa Apso's as they are just such wonderful loving pets. I have interest in showing them also however this has been a little difficult of late while raising four young children. My intention is to improve the quality of my lines and only breed to do this. This way when I finally get back into the show ring this year it will be with some great quality Lhasa's. I also only aim to breed Lhasa's of beautiful temperement and hope to do justice to a breed that is so beautiful.
