We are situated in the beautiful Upper Hunter Valley at Kerrabee, which has been described as 'The Neapolitan Mastiff Capital of Australia', due to the close proximity to us of Magnufi Mastini. We are approximately 3 1/2 hours north-west of Sydney, and 3 1/2 hours south-east of Dubbo. Our property is home not only to Fortunamente Mastini but also the various wildlife that live in the shadows of the surrounding sandstone caves and cliffs.

The goal of our breeding program is to produce for ourselves that 'one true Mastino'.

We carefully consider the strengths and weaknesses of both the sire and dam when planning any potential mating. Due to this puppies are only occasionally available to selected homes. We do not sell puppies as 'show potential', as 99.9% of their existence is as a family companion and the other 00.1% is as a show dog.

Fortunamente, Velluto and Magnufi imported two fantastic males into Australia - Ch Fosco dello Stradone Vesuviano Magnufi (imp Italy), and Gothics Massimo Magnufi (imp USA). Both of these males have produced some wonderful offspring, and we wait excitedly for our next litters from these boys. Grateful thanks to Lorene for organizing their importation.

We are a veterinarian owned, elite kennel endeavouring to breed Neapolitans that are healthier, happier, with heavy wrinkling, massive bone and head (‘true to type’), but not overdone caricatures. Brenton has been showing dogs for over 30 years, breeding and showing his first Australian Champion in 1976.

We provide our new puppy parents with healthy, happy, well-rounded, and extremely well bred puppies. All of our Mastino are well-socialised with all other animals and people, with particular focus being upon correct socialisation with other dogs.

We have handpicked our Mastino from across the world, searching for bloodlines that display superb type and health. Those we have imported are free from as many of the heritable diseases and defects that afflict some Neapolitans in Australia as possible. (Our girls hold Australia’s record for hip scores within Neapolitans!) To ensure we are breeding solely for the betterment of the breed, all of our adults undergo rigorous health testing prior to breeding.

All of our Neapolitans are tested for thyroid, heart & eye issues (PPM & PRA), vWD type 1, 2 & 3 and all are hip & elbow x-rayed AND scored. We believe these tests are essential for the longevity of the Neapolitan in Australia.

The picture shown is of Tank our first Neapolitan Mastiff. Tank is bred true to type and breed standard & while we are relatively new to breeding, we are working closely with Nancy & Klaus of Maggiormente Neapolitan Mastiffs & hope to add something of our own to their years of hard work & experience.
One of the people who we consider to know what he is talking about concerning true type & the breed standard is Italian Judge & Neapolitan Mastiff breeder Mr Antonio di Lorenzo who was in Australia on 9 June, 2008. With a record number of Neapolitan Mastiffs being shown on this day Tank won Best Intermediate Dog of Breed against 7 other entries. The QLD owners of some dogs who have made claims their dogs have beaten everything currently shown in Australia were strangely absent that day.
Tank was bred true to type with all the Hallmarks of the breed, not just for the show ring & that will be the basis of all our future breeding. This breed should touch an emotion in people which Tank does everytime he is out in public. My thanks goes out to those Aust judges who not only know the breed standard but also know the dog should spark that extra emotive factor in the show ring. Thus was the judges comment at Durack on 21 September, 2008 to Tank Best of Breed on that day..'best all round package/structure, not only a great head also great topline, angulation & fantastic movement.'
