We are a veterinarian owned kennel endeavouring to breed the archetypal Neapolitans with heavy wrinkling, massive bone and head, without becoming overdone caricatures. Dogs that are awe-inspiring, whilst being capable of performing their guardian role.

We are currently the only Neapolitan Mastiff kennel in Australia that are sponsored by Advance and Nutro!

We provide our new puppy parents with healthy, happy, well-rounded puppies. All of our Mastino are well-socialised with other animals and people, with particular focus being upon correct socialisation with other dogs to avoid temperament issues.

We have handpicked our Mastino from across the world, searching for bloodlines that display superb type and health. Those we have imported are free from as many of the heritable diseases and defects that afflict some Neapolitans in Australia as possible. (Our girls hold Australia’s record for hip scores within Neapolitans!) To ensure we are breeding solely for the betterment of the breed, all of our adults undergo rigorous health testing prior to breeding.

All of our adult Neapolitans are tested for thyroid, heart & eye issues (CMR, PPM & PRA), vWD type 1, 2 & 3 and all are hip & elbow x-rayed AND scored. All pass with flying colours!! We believe these tests are essential for the longevity of the Neapolitan in Australia.

Guerriera Mastino is located on a large property in the beautiful Gold Coast Hinterland. On this property our dogs have the run of the place, they can swim in the dam and run through the bush to their hearts content.
At Guerriera Mastino we breed true to type (mass, bone & wrinkle) but most importantly also to function. Our dogs take it in turn guarding our property staying true to the function of their ancestors.

We are situated in the beautiful Upper Hunter Valley at Kerrabee. We are 3 1/2 hours north-west of Sydney, and 3 1/2 hours south-east of Dubbo. Our property is home not only to Fortunamente Mastini but also the wildlife that live in the shadows of the surrounding sandstone caves and cliffs.

The goal of our breeding program is to understand what we are breeding, appreciate what we are breeding and to maintain the integrity and true nature of what we are breeding.

We carefully consider the strengths and weaknesses of both the sire and dam when planning any potential mating. Due to this puppies are only occasionally available to selected homes.

Fortunamente, Velluto and Magnufi imported two fantastic males into Australia - Ch Fosco dello Stradone Vesuviano Magnufi (imp Italy), and Gothics Massimo Magnufi (imp USA). Both of these males have produced some wonderful offspring, and we wait excitedly for our next litters from these boys. Grateful thanks to Lorene for organizing their importation. Justo of the Witches Meltingpot (imp NWY) has joined the family of Mastini at Fortunamente. We are very grateful to Trine from Kennel of Witches Meltingpot for sending us Justo and Lorene from Magnufi Mastini for once again organizing importation.
