We are a small outfit in WA and we only have 1 Pharaoh Hound so far, but boy what a quality bitch she is! Rani has excelled in the conformation ring and is a BEST IN SPECIALTY SHOW WINNER and also a Best & Runner-up in Group, Class in Group & Class in Show and winner.

As Rani matures she is going from strength to strength all with very tough competition here in Western Australia where we dont have the opportunity to pick and choose between shows, which makes her achievements all the more sweet.

We are looking forward to more excitement in 2010 both in and out of the show ring with Rani, and all going well with an exciting litter of puppies due in 2010...

Esilap Kennels {est 1955} have been breeding quality pedigree dogs for the show ring, and loving pets for over 50 yrs with many Champions to our credit.
First with Labradors, Esilap Shady Lady in 1956 was our first champion and now with Whippets & Italian Greyhounds, with Esilap Elektra being the first black whippet bitch to get her title in Victoria in nearly 50 yrs, at only 14 mths of age. And champion Esilap Panchetta [Italian Greyhound] who got his title with 7 BOB'S , 4 in one weekend at aged 7 mths.Also our latest Champion Esilap Montana whose career was unfortunatly cut short on the 02/04/09 while being campaigned in N.S.W. She will always be in our hearts and we are sure she is still beating them in that big showring in the sky. Her sister Esilap The Huntress is following in her sister footsteps and is now also an Australian Champian

"Hunter"

2005 saw the start of my love of the Pharaoh Hound with the arrival of the very beautiful Pippa from Jay Green of the renowned Lahej Kennels, Aust/Am Ch Lahej High Flier was an extremely beautiful example of the breed but sadly we lost her in 2007 aged 8 years old, soon after gaining her final points towards her Grand Champ status. So I waited until I found the right breeder, who like myself admires and has the desire to protect this ancient breed through careful breeding and care. Luck had it I was able to obtain a Pippa grandson from Rhodepark Kennels.

So began the wonderful partnership with Troy and Renee Davies of Rhodepark - Rhodepark Pharaoh's are consistent winners of Best of Breed, Group and Show at All Breeds, Specialties and Royals - thus proving the dedication of their breeding program by importing and expanding the gene pool within Australia of Pharaohs of outstanding quality from kennels owned by first class dedicated breeders like themselves.

Hunter has been unbeaten for Best of Breed throughout 2009 by any other prefix then his own. He still hasn’t reached full maturity so we are looking at a very bright 2010.

2010 should see another Rhodepark Pharaoh residing at Mychaka to continue on with the promotion of this beautiful breed.

[B]We are proud to announce the arrival of the very first Portuguese Podengo in Australia, INT Ch FIN Ch EST Ch Tahtitaivaan Emmi. [/B]

Emmi has been mated to a Portuguese import in Finland, Pastel Da Praia Do Ribatejo, from the world famous Praia Do Ribatejo kennel in Portugal, and the puppies should arrive any day now! the ANKC has approved this breed, and we should be able to enter the showring with Emmi and her progeny early 2011. Look out for this dynamo new little hound!

I fell in love with sighthounds back in 1995 in my home country of Finland, and was extensively involved in breeding and showing of Portuguese Podengos.

I was introduced to Pharaoh Hounds in 2005, when I acquired my foundation bitch Kiya, Ch Skiska Kool Kozmos from Leanne Lewis. Kiya has since produced a fantastic litter to The Pharaoh Hound of the Year 2008 & 32009 in Finland: INT Ch FIN Ch SWE Ch EST Ch NWY Ch LTU Ch Northgate's Dom Perignon, who is of course closely related to the Crufts 2009 and 2010 Group Winner Northgate's As You Like It. The fabulous 8 puppies have all gone to their new homes around the world, and we are very excited to see what they get up to in the following years!
