We are small home-based breeder located in the beautiful Adelaide Hills on 75 acres were the air is fresh and clean.

We do not have any kennel facilities,(apart from the puppy enclosure to keep puppies safe from the Hawks when they are outside) nor cages, our dogs are family members, and play a very important part in our lives. Litters are minimal, maybe one to two litters a year. We do not just breed for puppies.

We compete primarily in the conformation ring, a hobby we enjoy, but have others who do performance sports with our puppies.

Sadly the diseases which can kill our beautiful Poodles, we cannot test for, however we do stand by our puppies if a genetic illness does occurs. Yes we do testing, and yes we do look and study pedigrees before we do a breeding here at Kirada.

Recently, Swed/Dan/Aust Ch Lycos Crazy in Love, "Simon", visited with us and is now the sire of more than 25 champions globally! Our homebred Simon son, the BIS winning Ch Cotian Love The Night Life, was R/up BIS on the 2009 Australian Poodle National weekend and has debuted in the US with multiple Groups and Specialty BIS's. Our newest dog, Cotian Call My Name, is just starting out with multiple group and R/up BIS wins.

Trevasco is a prefix first registered over 40 years ago and passed down a generation. With the valuable assistance and advice of other breeders, this year marks the start of our breeding programme after 14 years of owning Standard Poodles.

Our first litter was well received with all puppies placed within 8 weeks and was the first litter of any breed to be entirely DNA tested for renal displasia in Australia. This was undertaken to ensure the ongoing health of all puppies placed.

We are also passionate about the silver/blue colours of the breed and anticipate that we may have a litter from the beautiful Ch Kirada Blue Bayou later this year to be available early next year. DNA tested for RD, DM, NE & vWD. Bayou has a hipscore of 8 well under the breed average of 12.2 and is clear of SA.

Our poodles are fond of helping us watch TV, and being at our feet enjoying our company. They also have a 6 manicured acre section of our property to investigate when outside. Puppies are raised with regular visits from grandchildren and socialised to household noises such as the vacuum cleaner.

Puppies have their nails clipped from the first week and are brushed and clipped frequently before they go to their new homes, making this less stressful for new owners and puppies alike.
