We are a small Dogsnz (NZKC) registered kennel based in the town of Murchison, situated at the top of the South Island. We have been devoted to this loyal affectionate breed for many years and could not imagine a life without them, hence Matakitaki whippets was established. Our breeding aims to enhance genetic diversity and raise social, healthy, true to type whippets.

We occasionally have puppies available. Our puppies are raised in the home and on our lifestyle block amongst other animals including sheep, chickens, and of course our other dogs. Puppies will have been regularly wormed and had first vaccination and vet checks before going to their new homes. Successful applicants for puppies will receive NZKC Pedigree papers, a Royal Canin puppy pack, and ongoing support.

At Isilwane Kennels we breed Ridgebacks - not dogs. But we're also home of MBIS/MRUBIS/BISS Aust Gr/Am Ch Ridgesetter Fly the Flag ET SC, aka Electra the Wicked Whippet. A consistent performer in the show ring, she finished her 20km ET with ease and came back to us in 2006 after spending 18 months holding her own in the US in conformation (Specialty Select & Multiple Group placings) and her new game - lure coursing. These days she is semi-retired from the show ring but her 11 Champion children (so far) and now grandchildren are "flying her flag proudly". If you've got and Isilwane Whippet - you've got Electra on your pedigree - what more could you want.

And the Whippets are multiplying (but don't tell the Ridgebacks) - we must have fed them after midnight and let them get wet!!! Also resident at Isilwane are Charlie (BISS Gr Ch Tezer Feel Free to Stare), Zest (BIS/RUBIS Ch Isilwane Flag Bearer ET) and our return package Nugget (RUBISS Ch Isilwane Jolly Roger) who is now proving his worth in the whelping box. Joining her mother and older siblings "Vesna" (it is ALL about her) - Ch Ridgesetter Maid In USA (IID). Then there is the second generation of Isilwane - Ch Isilwane Ice Age (Diego), Isilwane Ice Queen (Patches),Isilwane Tia Dalma (Calypso) & Pyrate (Isilwane Rapscallion) & Isilwane Lickety Split (Gracie).

And from Electra's last litter the very special Isilwane Plain White T (Delilah) and her half siblings Isilwane Dontcare What Uthink & Isilwane Ingenue.

Bundoon puppies are born and raised in the family home. Being a multi generational home, ranging in ages from 5 to 92 this helps accustom our puppies to all the sights and sounds of daily life in a busy household.

Once old enough puppies begin to spend time out in our puppy yards, where they get used to ride on mowers, blowers etc.

Our Whippets have been successful in the conformation ring, on the field in lure coursing and agility and are enjoying life on couches across Australia and overseas.

Our Whippets undergo heart health testing by experienced cardiologists before breeding.

Puppies and mum are examined by our vets first at 2 days old then again at 6-7 weeks old before going to their new homes.

We have owned Whippets 13 years. Since then we have considered whippets to be a big part of our lives. All our whippets are part of our family and not just pets. Indillion Whippets are located within the Sapphire Coast. Our dogs are bred first and foremost for temperament and soundness, as well as breed conformity to enhance the desired qualities in these lovely dogs. Active in providing sensory therapy assistance with intellectually disabled persons, our Whippets are gentle of nature, but maintain the drive and energy of the sighthound.

All of our Whippets (including puppies) enjoy living and playing in an outdoor environment and they love having space to run and chase each other or a ball. Indillion Whippets are very sound in disposition and show no signs of anxiety or fretting. We raise loving dogs that will spend quality time with you and then happily sit in the sun.

Before leaving our care, our pups are thoroughly vet checked, will have received their first vaccinations, be wormed, micro-chipped and well socialised. When enquiring about a pup, please include lots of information about yourself, your home environment and why you want a Whippet puppy so that we can match the right Indillion puppy up with you and you situation.

Je t’aime Whippets are brought up in a loving home by the seaside on the Gold Coast. They are used to all house noises, sea breeze, sun bathing with birds singing and playing at ‘puppy park’ their private preschool garden.

We have been breeders of whippets since 2006. Our dogs have excelled in Agility and Lure Coursing and have great robust temperaments, making them wonderful, loving pets and great sporting companions.

Our original lines are based on very old Australian lines (Hydale & Gayregal) and we are excited to have two new girls, Allgard Hot Wire on Fire (River) and Isilwane Blessid Union O Souls (Doris), join our small stud to carry on our breeding lines, while adding some more modern breeding.

River made her ALCA Lure Coursing debut with a stunning Best on Course and recently competed in her first ANKC trials for x2 Best JC Sighthound. We expect Doris, the daughter of two Dual Ch (LC), to be able to run the bags well as well. She is already showing drive in her puppy training and in her limited number of shows, has taken RCC from Minor Puppy, against Aust Sp Ch. bitches.

River and Doris join our very special home bred boy Rakaia Krocodile Hunter (Steven) who was one of the first dogs in WA to obtain a Lure Coursing Title. Unfortunately, Covid, a change in rules from needing 50 points to 100 points (Steven had gained 41) and the lack of judges in WA, meant that Steven missed out on his chance to obtain a F.Ch. title before age and a niggling toe injury saw him retired to the couch. We know his sporting quality regardless.

Each puppy comes with a Haqihana harness, six weeks complementary PetCover insurance, Dogs Qld membership for a year, two weeks food supply, feeding and caring info and a life long support.

We have owned dogs for over 40 years and bought our first two whippets 4 years ago. We have recently started breeding with the 'Waitetuna' name. Molly's (Arjuna Make Ya Moove) first litter was whelped in March 2023.
Molly's litter has the genetics of a U.K imported (N.Z registered) blue whippet named Sooty Blue. This mating resulted in a litter of blue/white, blue brindle, blue fawn, black/white and black puppies. Our whippets are raised as much-loved pets on a farm and are used to deer, cattle and chickens. In the near future, we will start showing our whippets.
