I am very pleased to welcome an impressive new addition into my home. Zella was imported to further support a commitment to breeding dual purpose German Shorthaired Pointers, and I'm hoping that she will prove to be a valuable addition to the breed here in Australia.
Her parents are both KS titled, and have both been awarded V1 status. Her sire has been one of Germany's top stud dogs for several years. All four of her grandparents have achieved V (conformation Excellent) status as well.
Zella has a confident and outgoing but not over the top temperament, together with nice conformation, and I am looking forward to showing, training and trialling her, as well as hopefully breeding from her some time later on.
She is an incredibly easy dog to train - an intelligent, totally focused, determined and persistent retriever and hunter.
Off to a good start, Zella won the ring in her very first obedience trial just recently.
Zella has now obtained her NRD (retrieving) title in fine style, and earned the admiration of judges and fellow competitors alike.
And she's done it again ... won the Novice ring at her second only appearance in the obedience ring!
Three trials, three passes - Zella now has her CD title!
Along the way she managed to pick up sufficient points to become an end of year Award Winner for SACA Top Obedience in the CD class.
Starting off 2012 well at the first retrieving trial for the season, Zella wins another Restricted Stake and with this, earns her RRD title.

She is a lovely dog to work - intelligent, enthusiastic, focussed, biddable, and a persistent hunter. Best of all, she seems to be passing these traits on to her progeny.

I thank her breeder for sending me such a beautiful girl.
