Aust Ch Moonshadow Dancing Bear
Mum Roxie is imported from England from the highly successful Xanova Kennel. Her ancestry is top class, and her sisters have been very successful in the European show rings. One sister, for example, won Best of Breed at Crufts in March 2008, and another sister won Best In Show at the Dutch Specialty Show in May 2008 and the French Specialty show in August 2008
Dancer's pedigree name, Moonshadow Dancing Bear, is in honour of our beloved girl, Mashiara Moonshadow or "Shadow", whom we have long referred to as "Mrs Bear". Shadow had a very successful show career prior to her retirement in mid-1999, and we based the name of our Kennel, Moonshadow, on her.
As a youngster, Dancer gained a Best Baby Puppy in Group, two Best Minor Puppy in Group, two Best Puppy in Group, and a Best Baby Puppy in Show award and qualified for her Australian Champion title at the age of only 13 and a half months.
She continued her winning ways in the following years. For example, she won Runner-up Best exhibit in the Working Dog Group at the Kangaroo Valley show in February, 2012, Best of Breed at the Canberra Royal Show also in February, 2012, and Best in Show at the Belgian Shepherd Dog Club of Queensland Open Show in March 2012.
On the first of February 2013, Dancer gave birth to a lovely litter of 7 puppies, 2 girls and 5 boys. All found great homes and their pictures can be seen on our website as they have grown up.
Following her successful show career during which she achieved over 500 challenge points and won numerous awards, Dancer was de-sexed and retired from the show ring in 2014. She continued to live happily with Rob and Lesley and their Tervueren Dream and little Japanese Spitz.
In early 2016, Dancer returned to the show ring in the new "Neuter" class. She was soon leading the Dogzonline Belgian Shepherd Groenendael Best Neuter competition for 2016. Our lovely girl still has what it takes!
