Breed - Beagle
Location : Canberra area, NSWDog Contact : Thelma Phone : 02 6238 0626 Email : enquiries@beaglerescuensw.org.au Listing Added : 16-Mar-10 Keifer is a 3½ year old tri-colour boy who was acquired along with several other beagles from breeders who had decided to reduce their numbers. Notes from Kiefer's foster carers: Kiefer has had a full health check; is lifetime registered, microchipped, desexed, and has had his teeth cleaned. His vaccinations, including for heartworm, are up to date. He is also on regular all-wormer medication. At nearly 4 years of age, Kiefer is an incredibly handsome dog. He is very fit, and loves going for a walk, although he is not properly lead trained yet. He is equally at home, just lying about and viewing the world from his bed. He is good with other dogs ... especially the ladies, as he is an ex stud dog. He doesn't tend to bark, unless a kangaroo, rabbit or possum comes into view. He does however get very excited when he sees the dinner bowl on the way, as he has a healthy appetite! Kiefer loves a cuddle, whether it be from an adult or a child. Kiefer's adoption fee is $350. Anyone interested in adopting him will need to fill in the Application to Adopt form on the link below http://www.beaglerescuensw.org.au/forms/applicationtoadopt_form.htm Please note: He is NOT available for interstate adoption except the ACT Kiefer is just one of many beagles looking for a new home. Breed - Beagle
Location : Canberra area, NSWDog Contact : Thelma Phone : 02 6238 0626 Email : enquiries@beaglerescuensw.org.au Listing Added : 16-Mar-10 Lulu is a 2½ year old tri-colour girl who was acquired along with several other beagles from breeders who had decided to reduce their numbers. Notes from Lulu's foster carers: Lulu has had a full health check, which included being desexed, getting her teeth cleaned, and boosting her vaccinations to include protection against kennel cough, and heartworm. She is lifetime registered and mircochipped. She is also on regular all-wormer medication. In her previous life, Lulu’s task was to produce puppies. She is around 3 years of age, and as you can see from the photo (yet to be updated) she is a very pretty girl. She is a gentle and reflective soul, and just loves to be loved and pampered. Given the chance, Lulu will happily sit beside you on the couch ... watching TV, or just sleeping! She is a lovely sight when on the run, wagging her tail. Lulu is not a dominant girl, and is gaining in confidence each day. At first she was tentative at dinner time, continually leaving her bowl – almost as if she was used to having to share. Unlike our Beagles, who bark or howl in excitement at meal times, Lulu has a distinctive squeal when she sees us coming with the food bowls. This abates upon the actual arrival of the bowls! Do you want unconditional love and affection? If so, Lulu is your girl. Lulu's adoption fee is $350. Anyone interested in adopting her will need to fill in the Application to Adopt form on the link below http://www.beaglerescuensw.org.au/forms/applicationtoadopt_form.htm Please note: She is NOT available for interstate adoption except the ACT Lulu is just one of many beagles looking for a new home. Breed - Beagle
Location : Sydney, NSWDog Contact : Erin Phone : 0420 396 212 Email : enquiries@beaglerescuensw.org.au Listing Added : 16-Mar-10 Toby is a 13 month old tri-colour boy who was surrendered to us as an older dog (not a beagle) he was living with took a dislike to his beagley enthusiasm. He is currently being fostered with a 6 year old male beagle & they are getting along very well. Toby is lifetime registered & desexed and has had a health and temperament check, is fully vaccinated, and is on regular worm, flea and heartworm treatment. Notes from Toby's foster carers: Toby is a handsome, affectionate, young boy with lots of energy and a highly inquisitive nature. This inquisitive nature would be best supported by a home where he will be given lots of attention, exercise and toys to keep him out of mischief. Toby understands basic commands, however he would benefit from further training. Toby's early days began in a home of two young children and two other dogs so he easily adaptable to a house with children and/or other dogs. His exuberant behaviour is better suited to older children that can exert some control over him, particularly when out for walks. Toby is full of personality. He has a cheeky, curious character and with the right amount of attention and discipline would make a delightful companion. Toby's adoption fee is $400. Anyone interested in adopting him will need to fill in the Application to Adopt form on the link below http://www.beaglerescuensw.org.au/forms/applicationtoadopt_form.htm Please note: He is NOT available for interstate adoption except the ACT. Location : Melbourne, VIC Dog Contact : Caroline Phone : 0413-526-208 Email : greyclover@iprimus.com.au Listing Added : 16-Mar-10 Baci is a 5yr old, desexed liver & white female GSP. Due to a family break up, she is looking for a new home. She is currently living with a family member in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Baci is great with other dogs and has been well socialised. She is pedigree but has no papers. She lived as an inside/outside dog and has no behavioural issues (like fence jumping or hole digging). She has not been brought up with kids, but has spent time around them and was well behaved. She attended obedience school and went regularly to an off lead dog park where she never ran away. She has a full tail and dew claws. Baci is looking for a home, preferably with a family with GSP experience (they are not a dog for everyone). Baci will not be rehomed to a hunter - she is a pet and has no hunting experience or inclination. Baci comes desexed, fully vaccinated, microchipped and wormed. **A photo will be uploaded shortly** [This advert was listed by German Shorthaired Pointer Vic Rescue 15/3/2010] |

Breed - Beagle
Location : Canberra area, NSWDog Contact : Sheryl or Rebecca Phone : 02 6236 6180 Email : enquiries@beaglerescuensw.org.au Listing Added : 15-Mar-10 Lucy's microchip records say she is 5 years old but from her looks we all feel she is more like 2-3 years. She is a tri-colour girl who was acquired along with several other beagles from breeders who had decided to reduce their numbers. Lucy is lifetime registered & desexed and has had a health and temperament check, is fully vaccinated, and is on regular worm, flea and heartworm treatment. Notes from Lucy's foster carers: Lucy is the quiet observer with big doe-like eyes. She is very placid and loves to curl up and go to sleep close to where you are situated. Her equanimity means she gets on well with other dogs but does not seem to need them as she has not joined in playing with them (this may change of course). She loves going for a walk and travels well in the car with the wind blowing in her ears. She is very affectionate and up for a cuddle almost any time of day but is patient and will wait her turn. A gorgeous gentle girl. Lucy's adoption fee is $350. Anyone interested in adopting her will need to fill in the Application to Adopt form on the link below http://www.beaglerescuensw.org.au/forms/applicationtoadopt_form.htm Please note: She is NOT available for interstate adoption except the ACT Lucy is just one of many beagles looking for a new home. Breed - Beagle
Location : Canberra area, NSWDog Contact : Sheryl or Rebecca Phone : 02 6236 6180 Email : enquiries@beaglerescuensw.org.au Listing Added : 15-Mar-10 Millie is a 4 year old tri-colour girl who was acquired along with several other beagles from breeders who had decided to reduce their numbers. Millie is lifetime registered & desexed and has had a health and temperament check,is fully vaccinated, and is on regular worm, flea and heartworm treatment. She does have a slightly shorter tail as it was docked when she was a pup as we think she had a kink in her tail. It does not hold her back in anyway as she can wag it with the best of them! Notes from Millie's foster carers: Millie is very eager to please and therefore quick to learn. She has caught on very quickly that she will not get her dinner until she sits quietly rather than flying all around the kitchen in a frenzy. She is extremely affectionate and adores sitting on your lap being cuddled. She is a bit insecure at times and pushes other dogs out of the way to be the centre of attention. Millie is desperate to be the centre of someone's world and this causes her to be very tolerant of procedures most dogs try to avoid such as ear-cleaning. I think she is part mountain goat as she is incredibly sure-footed and able to climb and balance on just about anything, despite this she has not tried to escape. She loves to run and play although her over-exuberance causes her to get carried away and sometimes other dogs get hurt and then do not want to play anymore. Millie loves to collect socks so if, like Rebecca, you throw your dirty socks on the floor you will lose them J. She loves playing with toys and is able to be let off lead as she comes back when called (especially quickly if treaties are involved). She is well behaved in the car but gets a bit car sick. Millie's adoption fee is $325. Anyone interested in adopting her will need to fill in the Application to Adopt form on the link below http://www.beaglerescuensw.org.au/forms/applicationtoadopt_form.htm Please note: She is NOT available for interstate adoption except the ACT Millie is just one of many beagles looking for a new home. Breed - Beagle
Location : Kurrajong, NSWDog Contact : Monique or Matt Phone : 02 4576 1661 Email : enquiries@beaglerescuensw.org.au Listing Added : 15-Mar-10 Oscar is an 8 month old tri-colour boy who was surrendered to us as his owners felt they could not give him the time he deserved. Oscar is lifetime registered & desexed and has had a health and temperament check, is fully vaccinated, and is on regular worm, flea and heartworm treatment. Notes from Oscar's foster carers: Oscar is a very energetic and lively boy, who loves to play, run and socialise with dogs who have just as much energy to burn. When he is introduced to a pack he will quickly learn his place. Oscar does need the company of at least one other young energetic dog, preferably a beagle but another high energy dog of similar size would be appropriate. He learns quickly and responds well to training. Training will be essential in order to keep his very energetic mind occupied and stimulated, if he becomes bored he will become destructive and should not be left alone for hours at a time. His previous owner did not provide much training, so this is a definite necessity. Oscar now sleeps inside at night, and we would love this to continue. He travels well in the car in both a harness and a crate. He walks well on lead, and he is also OK with friendly cats. Oscar is a delight inside, for being such a young beagle he is very calm in the house. He will however need some chew toys to encourage him not to chew on things that he shouldn’t if he gets bored. Generally he will lie at your feet and keep you company while watching TV, or working in the office. Oscar also thrives on human companionship. He will need a home where he will have someone at home most of the day. He has exhibited some minor separation issues while in foster care with a smaller pack, he will initially howl if left alone, but generally stops within 5 or 10 mins. The longer he was in care, the less frequently this occurred. As with any beagle he leads with his nose, but as along as he is kept occupied he will be fine. His previous owners had children and there were never any issues but as with any young dog he can jump up, with consistent training he will quickly learn not to do this. Oscar will fit in well to a family with an already existing young beagle, or equally energetic young dog who loves to play. He will need consistency in training in order for him to achieve his full potential and he thrives on human companionship which is also a must. Oscar's adoption fee is $400. Anyone interested in adopting him will need to fill in the Application to Adopt form on the link below http://www.beaglerescuensw.org.au/forms/applicationtoadopt_form.htm Please note: He is NOT available for interstate adoption except the ACT Oscar is just one of many beagles looking for a new home. She has a super friendly nature and loves people and other dogs. She would make a terrific companion for another mature dog. Maggie is well mannered and travels beautifully in the car, although she’s quite partial to wind in her face when travelling and has a penchant for sticking her head out of the car window!! She walks well on lead and has a pretty good recall. Maggie was previously in a home with 6 children, so is well mannered around them. Maggie is a happy little cherub who deserves a lovely new home where she will be included in family activities and regular exercise. Breed - Staffordshire Bull Terrier
Location : Kempsey, NSWDog Contact : Marguerite Phone : 02 65621554 Email : Nil Listing Added : 2-Mar-10 Name: Scout Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier DOB: 19/2/09 Tragically, Scout came into care when his young owner died suddenly and her family were unable to take him. Having known nothing but love since he was a baby, Scout is THE sweetest, softest, sookiest, smoochiest soul you could find. This darling boy is now looking for a FOREVER home, where he will again receive the love and life he deserves. Scout adores people and quite simply, just loves to be loved. Whilst he interacts well with other dogs, his passion is people. As such, he longs for a home where he will be the centre of attention and get all the love and 'adoration' he craves. Scout loves going for walks, rides in the car, lazing on the lounge, pottering outside ... basically, wherever you are is where he wants to be. Scout does not 'cope' on his own. Consequently, he IS NOT suitable for a home where he will be left for regular, extended periods alone without human companionship ... and MUST have house-dog status (ie. inside). Scout has basic obedience training however will benefit from ongoing 'work' in this area. He would ideally suit a kind, caring, individual or couple looking for a delightful, devoted little dog to be their constant companion. Scout comes immunised, desexed and microchipped with an annual heartworm injection for $250. Please Note: a fully fenced yard (height minimum 1.5 metres) and property inspection are requirements of our adoption process. Please contact Marguerite at Kempsey RSPCA on (02) 6562 1554. |

Breed - Dalmatian
Location : Kempsey, NSWDog Contact : Marguerite Phone : 02 6562 1554 Email : Nil Listing Added : 19-Feb-10 Name: Duke Breed: Dalmation DOB: 24/3/01 Duke came into care via the local pound in a terrible state. Originally, picked up as a stray, Duke was traced back to his 'registered' owner by his microchip. They however advised that they had given him away years ago and had no record of who to. Dirty, covered in sores and very, very thin (he weighed 20kgs ... now 32kgs), it was no surprise when no-one claimed him from the pound. This beautiful brown eyed boy is now looking for his FOREVER home. Every bit as lovable as he looks, Duke is extremely affectionate and the happiest hound you'd find. He enjoys the company of other canines, however human company is also very important to Duke, therefore he needs a home where he will get oodles of love and attention and literally ... be part of the furniture (ie. inside). He loves going for walks , eating, rides in the car, eating, being inside (house-trained) ... and eating :) Duke had received NO training (including walking on a lead) prior to coming into care, but has quickly learnt the 'basics' and will continue to excel with further training. Duke is most suited to a dedicated dog enthusiast, looking for a soft, smoochie soul to share their lounge and love with, who has the time and commitment to meet his training, exercise and most importantly, companionship needs (he loves cuddles) ... short, medium and long-term. Medical Note: Duke has had 3 "warts" removed ...1 from his side and 2 from his legs. He comes immunised, desexed and microchipped with an annual heartworm injection for $250. Note: a fully fenced yard (height minimum 1.2m) and property inspection are requirements of our adoption process. Please contact Marguerite at Kempsey RSPCA on (02) 6562 1554. |
Breed - Siberian Husky
Location : Sydney suburb, NSWDog Contact : Katherine Phone : 0405 181 746 Email : ppetri@optusnet.com.au Listing Added : 18-Feb-10 Beautiful Chloey was raised by a couple whom regularly walked her, took her to on lead dog obedience training classes, let her off at the local river to run around and chase the ducks. This was one spoilt dog. Chloey was never an indoor dog due to her furry coat, she didn’t mind being outdoors in fact she used to love sleeping on the outdoor glass table, or relaxing on the grass in the sun. Unfortunately her owners have done some renovations to their house bringing Chloey's living space restricted to an in closed pool area which has no grass. Due to the couple having now 2 young boys, Chloey's walking time has been reduced, leaving her crying for attention, as she loves to live an active lifestyle. Chloey does not chew or destroy clothes, or digg holes, although she loves an old shoe to rip around and to play with. After a walk she will help herself to the pool. Chloey was born in June 2004 making her 5 ½ years old. She has been raised with babies. She is very hospitable around children and adults, She loves company. She would suit an only dog home as this is all she has ever had. Chloey has socialised with other dogs at parks and outdoors and just likes to have a sniff and chase them. Chloey has never jumped fences to escape, she will need a secure fence at least 6 feet high to keep her safe. Chloey is a healthy female Husky; friendly, desexed, micro chipped, regularly vaccinated, wormed and has no medical issues. She has one brown one blue eye. Chloey knows the commands: sit, drop, roll, shake, heel. Chloey is lovable and kind and would adapt to a home with someone who can dedicate the time for her regular walking/ grooming. She will be great around young children. Chloe is located in Chipping Norton NSW and is available now for a $200 donation to Husky Rescue. If you would like to find out more about Chloey or arrange to meet her please contact Katherine 0405 181 746 or email ppetri@optusnet.com.au |
