Dogs are allowed, but only on a leash. Unrestrained pets are at risk from fox baiting carried out in the reserve under CALM's Western Shield program.

Excellent places, heaps of camping areas right on the river - swimming etc...check out the website for all the details <www.naturebase.net/tourism/lane-poole_camping.html>.

Recommended for people who love to rough it and get back to nature. Very quiet and the wildlife is lovely.

Must see to believe.

Details - My family Stay in Lane Poole at least 6 times a year as its a mere 1.5 hour drive from home.Summer being the best months but extremely busy on weekend and public holidays, we usually avoid these times as the best camp sites are full.winter months allow a fire to be built and the river is usually fast flowing and not to many people around.listed campsites provide drop toilets and fire rings and you can also set up camp in other areas, ask the rangers for advice. We have 2 German Shepherds and we have not had any problems in this reserve, dogs are to be on lead at all times is the rule, but we have had no complaints from others when they were off lead having a swim. I recomend this place to anyone, its a short drive from town and you are sitting near a river with just the water and birds as back ground noise.Sorry, and 2 dogs barking with joy, lol.
