Elsinore Holiday Units, WA

Accommodation Name - Elsinore Holiday Units
Location - Scarborough, WA (51 Pearl Parade)
Contact Details - Ph 08 9245 1272
Type of Accommodation - Self Contained Unit/Cottage

Details - I usually pay $90 per night for 2 adults and 2 dogs, the units are fully self contained with kitchen and laundry and everything supplied. The unit I usually use has 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with 2 double bunks. I stay there quite often with my dog and have never had a problem, some of the rooms have a enclosed courtyard for your dog but also your pet can stay in the unit.

About 5 minutes drive away is a dog beach. There are 2 excellent shopping centres close by plus other shops e.g. Coles within walking distance. It is situated not more than a 30 to 40 minute drive from the Perth City Centre.

Rating - (Out of a possible 5 ... 5 being excellent)

Details - I disagree with comments on this property. Sure it isn't the hilton, it is just a place to sleep with your dog. i found it adequate and unlike some places which you end up sharing space in someone elses house, i liked it because it was more like a motel. if you look on their site they do offer a 10% discount for internet bookings and less for longer stays. i'd like to know for those above who didn't like the property, where did you stay instead - do share!!??? one thing i dont like is it is a bit of trek to the city (20 mins drive or so).

Details - we booked in for 1 night on the recommendations from this page. we have a small dog so it seemed a great oppertunity to bring him with us. what a nightmare! we were charged $88.00 for 1 night plus $15.00 for the dog for a disgusting dump. there was a freshly squashed cockroach on the bathroom floor, the room stunk of smoke, the carpets and bedding were stained and filthy, there was spiders everywhere alive and dead! we left in the morning vowing to just forget the mistake we had just made only to be reminded 3 days later with a $50.00 deduction on our credit card for picking up a dog poo! we agree with the above it is disgracefull and we give it a -5!

Details - I didnt expect the ritz but I booked the scarborough palms or elsinore (same place) for two nights, taking our small dog, what a dump, they wanted $110. a night plus $15.oo extra for our dog. We walked in and walked out again, needed a very good clean, courtyard was a joke, full of dirt and weeds, the room was about 40 years old nothing like the pictures on website.
It was a disgrace, so please be careful, would not recommend even for a night.

Out of five I would give it a zero as it doesnt deserve a rating, the owners should be ashamed for asking that sought of money to stay.

Details - This is also where I stayed when I first arrived in Perth and was fretting as couldn't find anywhere that would take a dog until I could move into accommodation. Great spot.

Details - We recently transferred to Perth and required dog-friendly accommodation and this place worked out perfectly. Little garden area outside the unit for the dogs to scratch and sniff, they can come inside, and yes, not far from dog beach and other lovely walking areas. The hills around are great for a good workout for you and your dog. Not the Hilton, but clean and comfy.

Details - I stayed here, they are also called Scabarbough Palms Villas www.ioh.net.au excellent place considering there are only 2 places in Perth that i'm aware of another is a fremantle B&B. Got a grassed yard for the dog to run in, two bedrooms (one which can hold 4, the other 2) bathroom, laundry, close to the beach, scarbourgh has a dog beach very close. Great for a relaxing break for any east coasters who want to come over with their dog. It's certainly not the hilton, but it is clean, comfortable and only cost me about $75/night, after their 10% net discount.
