Details - Below is an excerpt from the website and a link to a little video of us on the dried up lake bed. I stayed there a couple of years ago with my 2 pugs who loved staying there. We rented out the water hut (you can see it in the background). With all the kangaroos jumping around my pugs were so excited at the prospect of catching one.....he he he.
The peaceful Bald Rock Bush Retreat is situated on 650 acres (255 ha) next to Bald Rock National Park, which features Australia´s largest Monolith after Uluru.
Fitting unexpectedly into the landscape, the focal point of the retreat is an authentically built Spanish/ Mexican Hacienda, which reflects the owner´s fascination with the architecture of southern Spain, where he lived as a young man.
The complex is surrounded by gardens of beautiful cacti and the retreat is self sufficient featuring wind and solar generated power, filtered rainwater and organically grown vegetables.
Guests can stay within the Hacienda complex or in a range of other imaginative buildings, from a rustic Bunk House to a simple Bush Hut on waters edge, or in a luxurious Lake Cabin built over the water of a lake, where one can fish from the veranda.
Delicious home cooked meals can be eaten in the dining room. The vine covered courtyard is perfect for morning coffee or a glass of wine on lazy afternoons.
Native wildlife abounds and visitors can explore and enjoy the many natural features, including grasslands, eucalypt forests, giant bolder strewn granite outcrops, streams and lakes.
For day excursions nearby there are the Bald Rock, Boonoo Boonoo and Girraween National Parks, whilst over 30 vineyards beckon one to taste the unique variety of locally produced granite belt vines.
