After 55 years of involvement with Basenjis, I am retiring from breeding.

I still have my current Basenjis, and we will continue participating in the activities my dogs and I enjoy; occasional visits to the show ring, Tracking (bush and paddocks) and Track and Search (urban), scent work - and whatever else takes our fancy.

In the show ring both here and overseas - we achieved 85 Champions - including Specialty winners; Field Champions, Tracking and Track and Search Champions, Lure Coursing and Fast Cats.

In 1992 I bred the first successful frozen semen Basenji litter in the world - and there have been many frozen semen litters since.

We have welcomed Basenjis from New Zealand, USA, England and Sweden. They have contributed so much to my bloodlines.

40+ years of health testing my Basenjis have generated a bloodline well respected for its overall soundness in body and mind.

Throughout my 55 years of involvement with Basenjis, our achievements and milestones are diverse, and proudly acknowledged.

About: Basenjis are suitable for small homes, but they do require a secure outside area for them to sun themselves. They are active in the morning and the late afternoon when they like to get a walk or playtime, other than that they are pretty lazy and sleep a lot, very like greyhounds. They don't bark but if unhappy they can howl!

We have been breeding and showing since 1999 when I got my 1st Basenji (Ch Teschi Pipers Tune)
She won Dam of Day 4 times at our October Specialty, a record she still holds. She produced what is now a long line of Champions, the Bayenzi prefix appears in many pedigrees. The kennel has produced multiple BISS winners and we still enjoy showing.

Our Basenjis live in the house and the pups are part of our family till they leave home at 9-10 weeks old, fully vaccinated, wormed and microchipped. I am a certified dog behaviouralist and make sure my pups are confident and happy, they are raised using gentle training methods that I share with new owners. I’m always happy to help other Basenji owners with training issues.
We test for both Fanconi and PRA, so far we have had clear results in all our dogs so we can guarantee our dogs are clear by parentage.
All new owners get a puppy pack and lifetime support for their new family member. We will always take a dog back if it needs rehoming for any reason.

Our Basenjis are Best in Specialty Show, Best in Show, Multi Classes in Show, Best in Group and Class in Group winners. In the QLD Basenji Speciality In 2017, our boy Demon 'Aust Ch Remwin Wildaboutharry' took out the Best in Show.

Our dogs have done us proud in the show ring and in their wonderful family homes. Their loving temperaments and ability in the show ring and their steadiness under stress and trying times makes them great home companions and family pets.

All our dogs are cleared for PRA and Fanconi via parentage and cleared by DNA profile.
All our pups are ANKC registered and DNA tested with Orivet to prove parentage and every new owner is provided with a care package of information and dietary requirements.

From two weeks of age, our basenji babies are wormed every fortnight.
At 6 weeks of age, they are vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and health tested by a registered veterinarian. We implement crate training and desensitisation to other dogs, cats and children. Our pups are handled from a very early age to ensure we raise friendly, inquisitive basenjis and to distinguish their temperaments so we can place them with the best homes possible.

I got my first Basenji for my 12th birthday and have been in love with the breed ever since. I have been breeding since 1989 and in that time have bred multiple champions here and overseas including the first ever Aust Grand Champion MBISS BIS Gr Ch Wazazi Trybal Image. I have breed many Aust champions including multi BIS and BISS winners here and abroad as well as numerous grand Champions, and I am the top breeder in Australia of Specialty winners in this country having bred more specialty BEST IN SHOW winners and RUNNER UP BEST IN SHOW SPECIALTY WINNERS.

This small kennel strives to get the best in temperaments, type and soundness and pure beauty.

MBISS & BIS Aust Gr Ch Wazazi Trybal Image (The first ever Basenji Bred by me at the age of 16) is to this day the first Aust Gr Ch in this country and Holds the record for the most BISS wins and RUBISS wins at the NSW Basenji Champions show and Also the record holder for the club point score trophy having won it 6 consecutive years in a row.

MBISS MBIS Ch Wazazi Awesome Beauty (Jazz) Owned by Nicky Craig is a 2 x Best In Show at the NSW Basenji specialty once in 2009 under Canadian Mr R Meen and under Breed Specialist Mr Jon Curby (U.S.A)in 2007. Jazz is also a RUBIS all breeds winner under N.Z Judges and more recently BIS all Breeds at Comboynne and BOB at 2010 Sydney Royal not to mention BIS in 2014 under Mr J Sheppard at the rising age of 8 years old.

The name Wuliango means "little village dog" in Zandee. Our Breeding program is focused on health, temperament, conformance and, selecting Basenjis breeding pairs who have close African gene lines.

Our foundation male Basenjis are:

CH. Wuliango Sweet Dandelion (AI) 3/4 African bred Basenji. Sire: Am CH.CH Kibushi Nyanga Sweet Snapdragon (Imp USA). Dam: Kibishi Poppy of Yamboka (Imp USA). Red & White. PRA and Fanconi tested as clear. Gene colour tested as a Prue for Red. Hip tested under PenHip and AVA testing schemes. Tested under ACS eye testing scheme.

Avongara Akua 1st generation African Basenji imported from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in 2011. Red & White. PRA and Fanconi tested as clear. Tested under the ACS eye testing scheme. Akua is registered with the African Stock Project, the American Kennel Club (AKC) and the Australian National Kennel club (ANKC). All Basenjis with "Avongara" in their name identifies them as being registered foundation stock Basenjis from Africa.

Wuliango Basenjis are well socialised and tested for: Fanconi, Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA), and have general eyes tests under the Australian Canine Eye Scheme.

Since acquiring our first Basenji in 2010, we now have a much loved tribe of Nayembe Basenjis who we have enjoyed showing around Australia, with plenty of "frillies" from Group and classes in Group & Show wins, a Best in Specialty Show (Elli), a Runner Up Best in Specialty Show (Sarabi) and a series of Royal sashes between them, along with Lure Coursing just for fun.

In 2016 we bred our first litter of Curlypuppies, from Safiya, and kept Araali our red & white boy, Sarabi and Tukio, red & white, and tri girls. We do not breed every year, and while most of our puppies have gone to loving pet homes, we have some show stars amongst them.

Safi, Yaama, Elli, and our home-bred Sarabi, Araali, Kip, Jarrah, Kyirrie, Solo and Indi have all achieved their Championships. Tukio has her Junior Courser title. Jarrah from 2018 has won Best in Group & was a 2019 Crufts qualifier. At the 2020 BCoNSW Championship Show, Kyirrie was Reserve Challenge Bitch, and Malia from 2020 was Baby Puppy in Show. We have regularly taken part in Sydney Dog Lovers Show & Basenji breed promotions.

Our kennel name is Nayembe, from the Lingala language, meaning "I sing".

Our dogs live at home in Tamworth, NSW, and whilst they might be the Barkless Dogs, they can all certainly talk! They make delightful and fascinating companions. All our dogs' eye health and DNA test results are available. We are members of Dogs NSW and the Basenji Club of NSW Inc.

Glamcurls is our small kennel located in Brisbane Qld. We raise, socialise and provide our Basenjis the diversity of life experiences in our family home so they are healthy and happy canine family members.

Jodie has been involved in Basenjis living with and exhibiting them since childhood. Craig grew up actively showing & breeding Shelties and after meeting Jodie shares her love of the unique and beautiful Basenji.

Champion Zandeena I was Hiding joined us as our foundation bitch at 12 months of age. “Heidi” has a beautiful temperament and wonderful breed type and is successful in her own right as a show dog.

Eriseve is a small kennel, breeding for temperament, health and conformation. Our short history has seen us produce both good natured family pets and several show champions, including Eriseve Zennyo Ryuo and Eriseve Zin Kibaru.
