Wurroit Bedlingtons are raised in a family environment with the dogs regularly welcoming visitors which results in the development of friendly, loyal dogs tolerant of new people and young children.

Bedlingtons have a non-shedding coat which makes them an ideal dog for people with allergies or asthma. They do however need regular grooming

Wurroit Bedlingtons original dogs came from Stenmor followed by Piperdene. We then added a Caeruleus bitch with UK and Stenmor ancestry. Our latest boy adds Ausbed and Granitor (UK), lines to the mix. The inclusion of kennels such as Isotop's (Sweden) and Piako (NZ), imports gives us genetic diversity while the selection for correct "type" allows us to produce pups with the desired traits and temperament of the breed.

Wurroit Bedlingtons are enjoying life as much loved pets and show dogs in Qld, NSW, Vic., S.A., W.A. Tas., the N.T., and overseas in Sweden, New Zealand, Hong Kong, South Korea and most recently, Wurroit Waikikan Wahine (Maili) has joined her uncle Wurroit Waimean Wascal (Moki), by taking up residence on Oahu, Hawaii.

We are not looking at breeding a further litter of Bedlington pups until the second half of 2021. The dam for this litter will be our home-bred bitch Wurroit Crimson Queen "Ruby", a lovely dark pigmented girl from Ch Wurroit Blue Diamond and Ch Ausbed Puttin On The Ritz.

All puppies screened for copper toxicosis, vaccinated, microchipped and carefully socialised. We have raised Hungarian Vizslas since 1995 and are proud of our reputation for fine quality family dogs.

Bedlingtons are mild mannered terriers, deeply loyal, have non-shedding coats and a low 'dog' odour. They do require a regular clipping for ease of maintenance, otherwise this 'old fashioned' breed deserves wider recognition and consideration.

Ranked No 1 Bedlington Terrier DOL 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021 Breeder.

We are a small boutique kennel (by international standards) based in Sydney, striving to breed to the FCI standard of type, size, structure, soundness, temperament and movement. This is reflected in our very successful show results.

We have dogs who have won Junior World Winner titles - 2016, 2017, 2018 and World Winner titles, 2018 and 2019 and Vice Winner 2020. We are the only Australian kennel to have exported a dog to the UK who has won both an Irish and English Champion. Our girl Fioralainn Russian Melody is mother to the NO 1 Terrier of Russia 2023. This is a very big achievement and reflective of our continuous genetic improvements and effective alliances within the Bedlington international community.

We are the only Bedlington Terrier Kennel in Australia to have successfully taken and competed our homebred Bedlington Terriers at World Dog Shows.

As we breed selectively, all our dogs are raised in our home and are well socialised, happy, confident, & outgoing. Our puppies are micro chipped, vaccinated and DNA tested by Llaboklin (UK).

We are very committed to this versatile, unique and agile breed, hence bringing in new blood for our gene pool in Australia. We are one of the few breeders to import dogs or semen in the last 10 years. Our latest arrival from Russia will be in May 2024. We are looking forward to welcoming an English Bedlington in 2024 to solidify our breeding lines.

Gentle in nature, charming and ultra-glamorous, Bedlington Terriers are very easy dogs to live with. They are generally very mild mannered and not particularly terrier-like in nature. However they do need a bit of yard or open space to run about, they love to chase and can bark a lot if not trained to do otherwise.

A Bedie would be well suited to people who want a dog breed that has very low doggy odour and is non-shedding. Keep in mind that this is a 'groomed' breed, the dogs require regular brushing and clipping to maintain their beautiful outline. Overall, Bedlingtons are ideal indoor companions suited to the modern family lifestyle, they are great with kids and can live actively but harmoniously with other breeds of dog.

My Bedlingtons have bloodlines from the best available in the world, including Australia, New Zealand and Russia. I am very fortunate to have been able to purchase beautiful dogs that continue to have great success in the show ring, and live as wonderful companion dogs with me at home. All are DNA tested for Copper Toxicosis prior to breeding, as required by the ANKC.

I show my Champion Bedlingtons in Victoria very regularly and always welcome interest in the breed, a chat and a pat when we have finished our show day.

Piperdene Kennels was established by Robyn Bates in 1987, and has always strived to produce beautiful quality Bedlingtons that rise to the top in the show ring as well as being the very best of companions at home.

Over the past 30+ years imported lines have been introduced into solid Australian lines to produce outstanding representatives of the breed. Many of these have been foundation stock for many Australian Kennels.

Many Piperdene dogs have enjoyed the winners circle at all the major Royal Shows in Australia, not only winning Best in the Terrier group but also Best in Shows and placement in show.

Piperdene Kennels is now situated in Melbourne Victoria in the leafy suburb of Vermont, with 30+ years of grooming and campaigning Bedlington's under my belt I'm excited to continue the legacy.
All puppies are raised in a family home environment, registered, vaccinated, microchipped and tested.

Visitors are most welcome to come see our Bedlington Terriers and when available puppies also.

I purchased Piperdene Pretty Boy Floyd as a puppy in 2021, I have had great fun with this boy both in the home and in the show ring, and we are very proud to have titled him . Floyds temperament is so gentle and affectionate. Loves to play and is wonderful with children.
Floyd is clear for Copper Toxicosis.
My female is Bedidash Miss Dee Meaner she is by CH. Breckland Stuck On You and her dam is Chismene Ravin Bout Rosie. We call this gorgeous girl Daisy.
She has the typical affectionate nature of a Bedlington and is a pleasure to have around the house.
Daisy is clear for Copper Toxicosis
