We have been involved with working German Shorthaired Pointers since the late 1970's.
We are also an DogsNZ Acredited breeder.

We have a bred number of dogs who work for the Department Of Conservation including the well known "Neo & Beau The Whio Dogs".
We have older puppies atm and occasionally older started working dogs available.
We also have fully health tested stud dogs and a range of frozen semen available to aproved and health tested bitches.

German Shorthaired Pointers from proven working lines who are also competitive in the show ring. Temperament is of the upmost importance to us. Our dogs are great working dogs and much loved pets. One of our puppies has gone on to work for DOC as a Whio (Blue Duck) dog.
We fully health test our dogs and encourage all puppy buyers to ensure the puppy they may buy from any breeder is from health tested parents.
Home of the dual purpose Hunt Point and Retrieve Gun Dog. Our German stock is based on solid foundations and can be traced directly back to English lines; Midlander, Inchmarlo and Keldy origins. The Midlander bloodline has remained constant since the 1950's, producing successes both in the show ring and the field.

Having worked in Gundog Rescue and rehabilitation for over 12 years in Germany and Southern Europe as well as over 10 years in dog rescue here in NZ, I feel my time has come to focus on healthy, mentally stable and well balanced dogs that are easy to train and a pleasure to live with.
That's how Loewenburg Kennels was born.
Our GSP' puppies are handled from birth and raised on the US service dog curriculum. This will ensure calm dogs at home and at work with a focused mind and eager to please attitude.

Both Boni and Bruno are excellent hunting dogs and comes from a great line of hunting and show dogs.
Boni and Bruno are both family dogs, are very relaxed and calm at home, but when it comes to working, they both give a 110% and always wants to please.
Our puppies are raised in our home with our family and are socialised very well with humans of all ages.
Our pups are suitable for show, hunting, all dog sports, and they make the very best family companions.
Puppies will be ready to go to their forever homes on the 21/10/2023.
The Pups will be DogsNZ registered, vet checked, vaccinated, dewormed and Microchipped.

My dogs are family first and foremost but we are often found at Conformation shows, Rally O competitions or Scent work trials around the South Island in the weekends.
All breeding's are thoroughly researched and I only breed when I want to keep something for myself. Health and temperament of puppies produced is paramount when planning a litter. Parents are fully health tested (Hips/Elbows, eyes, heart, and full DNA panel as a minimum). I only breed occasionally, one litter every 4-5 years. Inquiries most welcome.
