At Anluan Kennels we are devoted to Irish Terriers. We breed for sound temperament and type. We have produced many top winning Irish Terriers however our greatest pleasure comes from seeing our well bred puppies in loving homes.

PLEASE NOTE that we are not anticipating a litter in the foreseeable future. We do not keep a waiting list for puppies that are not born and thriving. I have been involved with Irish Terriers for nearly 20 years and think they are the most wonderful breed ever! They are an energetic, fun loving dog that love people's company, especially children. They love to exercise and play but also can be quite content just laying in the sun. They are a healthy breed with a weatherproof coat and can live indoors or out. They have a gentle nature but are true Terriers when the situation warrants it. My pups are house raised and come from parents with wonderful natures. I have been quite successful with showing my dogs, winning Melbourne Royal with 3 of them. My dog, D'arcy is Australia's First Supreme Champion of the breed and his nature makes him a wonderful ambassador for the breed. I am always happy to talk to anyone about these dogs.

Our puppies are raised in a loving family environment, they are well socialised with children and other dogs. When leaving us they are microchipped, vaccinated, wormed, health checked, and come with a puppy starter pack.

We offer lifelong relationships with our puppy owners and provide advice and guidance be it training for dog shows, sports, or obedience.

Irish pups are adorable
Originating in Ireland, one of the oldest breeds of terriers. Nicknamed the “daredevil,” it has earned the reputation of being adaptable, loyal, spirited, and recklessly courageous. It served as a messenger and sentinel dog in World War I, and it has been used to hunt and to retrieve game. The Irish terrier is a sturdily built dog with racier lines than those of other terriers. Its long, relatively narrow head is usually accented by a short beard. It stands about 18 inches (46 cm), weighs 15 to 20 kg, and is distinguished by its wiry golden-red to reddish brown coat.
They are an energetic, fun loving dog that loves people's company, especially children. They love to exercise and play but also can be quite content just lying in the sun. They are a healthy breed with a weatherproof coat and can live indoors or out. They have a gentle nature but are true Terriers when the situation warrants it.

Grá Mo Chroi in Gaelic means 'in my heart' or 'love of my heart'.

As soon as you welcome an Irish Terrier into your life, you are bound to fall in love. My husband and I did, with our first Irish, Rufus, (from Roismar Kennels) back over a decade ago. When he left our lives, we were inspired to get more involved with the breed. Over the past few years I have been extremely fortunate to be mentored by Pam Gerrey from Tawnyoak, have got involved in dog shows (which was more fun than I thought).

How to best describe what it’s like living with an Irish Terrier? They are loving but irrepressibly cheeky. They are energetic, but also enjoy a cuddle. They are mischievous and make you laugh every day. Anyone I have ever met who has owned an Irish always smile in delight at their memories of their dogs. They are the best dogs.

Happy to chat and help out with grooming and learning how to hand strip a harsh coat.

We have no additional litters planned in 2024.

At Awildian Irish Terriers, we love our wirehaired little pack. Our dogs are well-adjusted to family life and we have found them to be a willing and loyal breed.

The Irish is one of the oldest breeds of terrier and originates from rural life in Ireland. Due to its loyalty and courage the Irish became popular at the turn of last century and was known as the “gentleman’s dog.” These are the traits that this breed is still known for today.

Awildian maintain both looks and temperament in our dogs and are dedicated to upholding the integrity of the breed in Australia. Our dogs have plenty of ‘pluck’ as terriers do. They equally love companionship of an evening, curled up at your feet, calm & relaxed.

We live approximately halfway between Melbourne and Adelaide in a small rural town. Our dogs fit well into our adventurous country lifestyle of camping, hiking, canoeing, swimming and beach play.
