Our aim is to breed the best possible working labrador retrievers in Australia. Our breeding program is focused on working ability and traits.

We have travelled to New Zealand, UK and USA observing field/working bred labradors. We continue to visit America sourcing working field line genetics.

Health is also highly valued. For example, we were the first Australian labrador breeder to test for exercise induced collapse and centronuclear myopathy. Additionally retinal dysplasia/osd. We are involved in DNA research.

AVA hip and elbow dysplasia grading schemes are performed achieving great results.

All dams and sires have eye clearances.

We are proud to have bred dozens of police drug, explosive, and other contraband labrador retrievers. In fact, an Australian Record number, by a private breeder.

We are proud of breeding multiple Australian National Retrieving Trial Champions. Again a record number in this country. The Australian National Retrieving Trial Championship is normally held in September.

We are proud of breeding many search and rescue dogs.

We are proud of breeding agility and obedience labradors.

Josmyn Labradors are committed to breeding quality and correct Labradors for show/ companion, we have a strong direction on type, conformation and temperament. Living on 90 acres our dogs are free to run, swim, and play. I have a strong passion for the Labrador breed, they make such wonderful family companions.

We have been working hard since we started breeding to use only the best possible sires over our girls and titled where possible.

Our very first Chocolate girl was Ashalily Maggie, after alot of research we were very excited to introduce her as our Matriarch and from her we started to use the Blackhills and Lacote lines.

We have black, yellow and chocolate females who all have some of the best imported and international pedigrees available.

At Josmyn Labradors we pride ourselves on only breeding from genetically clear breeding stock with below average hip scores and only 0 elbows.

We also breed Warmbloods and have been for 15 years, our horses have been exported and are kicking goals in eventing, dressage and showjumping.

We now own two stud dogs that have full imported pedigrees. Both boys are chocolate and produce amazing beautiful puppies/ adults.

We bought our first Labrador Duffy into the family when we were expecting our first grand child as we wanted a dog that would be great with kids. We couldn't be happier with our choice of breed, so we bought another, Cadie. In 2012 Duffy had her first litter. We kept a boy from this litter, Jingo and in early 2013 we took great delight in adding our gorgeous Jeda to the clan. Jeda is our only black labrador with the other 3 being chocolate.
Duffy Cadie Jingo and Jeda are part of a Pets As Therapy program in the local nursing homes, they go and visit the elderly and disabled on a weekly basis.
All our dogs are fed a raw natural diet of meat bones and added supplements. All our dogs have excellent hip / elbow scores and have been DNA tested for PRA and EIC.
All my dogs are enrolled in obedience training towards getting CCD and Rally-O titles. Duffy has her CCD and Rally Novice title, Jingo has attained his Australian Championship and is doing well at Rally-O and Jeda is loving nosework classes. All compete in the show ring with some success.
Our labs are part of the family, they live indoors or out as they please and they all come on holidays with us.
My aim is to breed healthy, happy Labradors in a free range environment.
