We are a select small kennel in South Australia, home to both brown and black nose Ridgebacks.

When choosing a Ridgeback as a companion, we believe temperament and soundness are most important. Our breeding program, choice of stud dogs and puppies reflect this importance.

We also participate in many various dog related disciplines, including Conformation showing, Obedience, Dances with Dogs and Heelwork to Music. Our "Gatto" was the first RR in South Australia to achieve his Dances with Dogs and Heelwork to Music titles - Grand Ch Mikozi Gracious Villain RN ET DWDF.S HTM.S.

We believe bringing puppies into the world is a huge responsibility, and therefore breed only very occasionally.

At Hamalek we are breeders of Alaskan Malamutes and Rhodesian Ridgebacks. All our dogs live in a family enviroment and enjoy spending time with us camping, bush walking, showing and sled dog racing.

We got involved with Rhodesian Ridgebacks in 2003 started from showing our boy Cooper (Aus Ch Balnacoin Kelton) at conformation shows and actively working for the RR club of SA.
We take dog breeding very seriously therefore we don't breed often and mainly when we want to add a puppy to our family and for our future breeding program.
We bred our first litter in 2009 and then breed only occasionally introducing new bloodlines to our kennel, keeping great temperament and true breed type of our Ridgebacks.
We actively show our dogs and they enjoy this sport as much as we do and we are so proud of their achievements. Our dogs live in the house with us and enjoy their walks around our 10 acres picturesque property.

Our dogs enjoy life on our 20acre property at Lower Inman Valley (near Victor Harbor). My dogs are family companions first and foremost therefore a sound temperament is a must.

At Macumazahn we have 2 litters per year, with puppies available to the discerning Ridgeback lover. All breeding stock is hip and elbow xrayed, full Breed DNA, heart certified, along with other screen checks. I breed selectively and lovingly raise my babies in a home environment using the "Puppy Culture" method, with all the care and attention that is necessary for happy, healthy & well socialised puppies. I provide ongoing support for my puppy owners.

I am a small scale breeder and exhibitor of Rhodesian Ridgebacks. My dogs live a life of luxury as companions in my home. They are fed premium food, have daily bush hikes or runs at the beach and accompany me on regular outings (e.g. nursing home, coming to work, brunch at cafes etc). I love the breed and want to share the joy I get from my dogs, by breeding to produce quality puppies of a high standard for companion and/or show prospects. I always aim to improve and preserve the integrity of this amazing breed with every litter I thoughtfully produce.

Any dog used in my breeding program has full comprehensive health testing performed (CHEDS hip and elbow scoring +/- PennHip if indicated, cardiac auscultation and echocardiogram (+/- Holter Monitor if indicated) by cardiologist, and full Orivet DNA profile (including screening for JME, DM, EOAD). Breeding stock must be of excellent temperament and be suited as family companions first and foremost, with show ring success being a bonus.

Puppies are raised with care inside my home using the puppy culture protocols. They go to new homes vaccinated, sterilised (tubal ligation/ vasectomy), with a comprehensive information book, food and blanket. The well-being of every puppy I produce is important to me, and I am available to assist and advise on any issues for the lifetime of my puppies.
