After owning Australian Kelpies for almost 25 years, I decided to purchase a Vallhund for my daughter. I could not have chosen a more loyal and faithful companion for her. The breeder told me that the breed grows on you, and so it does, as now we have 5!!

Ausled's involvement with Vallhunds started in the eighties, we remain dedicated to this very versatile and loyal breed. Ausled is a family affair, our dogs are firstly part of the family.

We strive for temperaments that will fit into the home as well as being capable of participating in the life of their owners, obedience, herding, agility and showing are all in the scope of a Vallhund, as is beach and bush walks, swimming and chasing a ball, or just being there as part of the family !

We also pride ourselves on keeping up with the latest DNA diversity testing,

Here at Ausled we are always happy to talk about our Vallhunds. This breed is in general, long-lived and easy to look after, trainable, grooming is moderate.

Home of the first Australian Obedience titled Vallhund and the first International Champion.

Australia's premier and longest established Vallhund Kennel.

I fell in love with this breed when I paid a visit to Wynrik Kennels, Breeders of Welsh Pemboke Corgi`s and Swedish Vallhunds, when they moved to Victoria, these little dogs went out of their way for me to notice them, they had an amazing zest for life and energy hooked me instantly.

I was lucky enough to campaign 2 from Kloval Kennels. Aus Ch Kloval Pelle and Aus Ch Kloval Orissa.
Upon moving to Queensland I then was given the amazing opportunity to start a partnership with the late but very well respected Leonie Darling ( Dlarah kennels) where I started to campaign Aus Ch Dlarah Kentucky Rain and her brother Supreme Ch Dlarah Little Red Corvette.

This breed is a loveable companion if you put the time in, they are a high energy breed that don`t do well just left to their own device.
They are extremely intelligent and respond well to Agility or obedience.
If you don`t have the time to train a puppy then this is not the breed for you.

I occasionally have puppies for sale to for ever homes and are sold on a non negotiable desexing contract.

Owning a vallhund was a long held dream of mine, so once I was in a position to do so, I started my hunt.
I acquired my first Vallhund, Arche, from Maroki Kennels in New Zealand. Arche has been an absolutely amazing ambassador for the breed. I honestly could not have asked for a better bitch. A well rounded, social, stable girl, who steals hearts and kisses wherever she goes and is a joy to own.
Since then, we have added to our Vallhund family with further imported bloodlines. Our dogs have proven themselves in the show rings and are much loved family members.

All our puppies are raised following the Puppy Culture Program and we are passionate about raising well rounded, versatile puppies.

Please feel free to contact me for any information on the breed, If I cant help with your request, I will be more than happy to pass you on to others who can.
We are always open to meeting new people, and sharing the joy of the Västgötaspets!

Over many years I have watched Swedish Vallhunds at various shows and researched the breed for several years. I made the decision in 2016 to investigate welcoming a Vallhund into our home, so the journey began. Our first family member came from New Zealand from Osuno. Vallhunds and German Shepherds are amazing together. Our Vallhunds love to play with the Shepherds. At shows and wherever we take our Vallhund they are happy and loves to mix with any other breed of dog around. Nothing bothers them. They love meeting people and always warn us when someone is coming down the long drive often before the GSD's do. I am sure at times these little balls of energy think they are German Shepherds with short legs. They love to explore and check out everything and are such happy dogs to have around. Looking forward to growing our family of Vallhunds, we now have Titan and Annie to join our show team. Like our German Shepherds we do all the health testing available hip and elbow x-rays and a full DNA profile. We are part of the Swedish Vallhund Diversity testing program. Our Vallhunds are regular visitors to Bunnings and around our local shops and markets. They are an amazing breed and can be involved in many activities, lure coursing, scent work, Agility, tricks, Rally to name a few.

We are currently taking expressions of interest in a litter with our lovely Miss Gypsi and the handsome Zeno (UK champ), due end of April. Our most gorgeous Audrey will have some puppies for us mid year.

The Swedish Vallhund dates back to 18th Century Sweden where the breed was utilised as farm dogs, primarily for herding cattle. The Swedish Vallhund is known in its native land as Vastgotaspets, which means Spitz of the West Goths. This dog is also known as the Swedish Shepherd.

In Sweden it is believed the Vallhund travelled to Wales with the Viking raiders and went on to become the ancestor of the Pembroke Welsh Corgi. The Swedish Vallhund was first introduced into Australia in 1981.

BREED PERSONALITY, CHARACTERISTICS AND TEMPERAMENT
The Swedish Vallhund is a chirpy little working dog, in which the herding instinct is still very evident. An energetic breed, the Vallhund is friendly, active, agile and very intelligent. It responds well to training due to its eager-to-please personality and is very trustworthy with children. These dogs do well at obedience, love agility and are accomplished trackers.
COMPATIBILITY WITH OTHER PETS
The Swedish Vallhund is quite trustworthy with other dogs.
CARE REQUIREMENTS
Vallhunds are tough, hardy dogs, not subject to any particular ailment. When properly cared for, they are seldom ill. Their low maintenance coat is weather resistant and easily repels mud and grime. They have a major moult at least once a year.

Snodogz Of Australia is very proud to introduce our Swedish Vallhund dogs.
We take a lot of pride in our beautiful breed/show dogs.
With the support and expertise of American and Swedish breeders, we are achieving our goals to produce beautiful, strong, confident and endearing dogs. Vallhunds have a deep and rich history as working cattle dogs, but have the temperament that makes wonderful fun family companion dogs. They are also very smart and loyal.
Our dogs and puppies are raised in our family home with love and care. There are no kennels here.
We breed occasional litters with emphasis on health, diversity and especially temperament. With thanks to the generosity of our American associate, we have recently imported our new stud dog. He was sired by a champion stud dog from Sweden and has his first puppies on the ground now.
We bring a lifetime of animal husbandry expertise and competitive drive to the show world.
Our passion and endeavour is small in that we breed puppies for quality, not quantity. Performance and trainability are standard traits with our breed. Genetic diversity is a high priority and subsesquently guarantees strong healthy puppies for years of fun and friendship.
We look forward to challenging the status quo, both here and overseas, and have exciting plans for 2024 and beyond.
Please contact us for a chat about our lovely Swedish Vallhunds.

I am now co-owned by two Swedish Vallhunds which I purchased from Ausled Knls. in Victoria. They are in addition to my two Bearded Collies. They are Aust Ch Ausled XS Fennec and Aust Ch Ausled Kaa Chil. I have had some success with showing the Vallhunds in South Australia which being the only ones shown here goes to show the quality of the dogs. Drax has had puppy in groups and also a Runner up in group and Chili at her first show was Baby puppy in Show, we have not had the opportunity to do much since then as Covid hit, so showing has been very limited.
