Breeder of quality Australian Kelpies - Red, Chocolate & Black. Watersedge Kennels was established in 1993 with the purchase of my first show Kelpie. Kelpies were already an integral part of my life prior to this as my grandmother was a breeder of working dogs. My early life was spent on horseback with a Kelpie by my side. I cannot imagine not having these wonderful dogs as my companions. Puppies sometimes available. Breed enquiries welcome.

The Watersedge family has been involved in Show dogs for decades.
The first litter under the Watersedge prefix was born in 1996.
Our first Finnish Lapphund, Grand Ch. Theldaroy Wild Not Me (Laani) became part of the Watersedge family in February 2002.
Watersedge is still able to claim that we are showcasing Australia's youngest Runner-Up To Best in Show at All Breeds level. Laani is the first female in Australia to be awarded the title of Grand Champion, which she maintained for years.
Our first Finnish Lapphund litter was born from our first import in 2005. Ch. Fidelis Haltiatar (imp FIN) to FIN/LTU Ch. Fidelis Alias Amicus. Her brood of 6 have gone on to make their mark on the Finnish Lapphund breed in Australia.
Watersedge has produced several litters since then. We don't breed that often and when we do it is for a specific purpose.
We have been blessed with the first cream puppies to be born in Australasia and also some with more unusual colours and markings. We strive to breed typey, sound, healthy puppies and as such all of our dogs are hip & elbow x-rayed & scored, prcd-PRA tested clear & frequently undergo ACES eye tests.
Our puppies are all placed in homes with DNA confirmation of parentage & prcd-PRA clear status. Health results for the parents are readily available to puppy purchasers.
Our dogs are treated as members of our family, they are not banished to kennels. Our puppies are house reared.
