Ikon is a very much loved member of my family, and was my ultimate showman. He is an excellent ambassador for his Breed, and achieved so much in the show ring. He is a happy, highly intelligent dog that is very independent and very much devoted to his family.

Ikon was awarded numerous Class In Group awards across various age levels and was regularly chosen as a Finalist for Best Exhibit In Group in a very tough Victorian field. He achieved the Title of Australian Champion with ease and gained the Title of Grand Champion at two years and five months of age, and is still believed to be one of the youngest Mittels to achieve this Title.

At Royal Shows Ikon was awarded 8 Challenge Certificates, resulting in multiple Best of Breed and Runner-Up Best of Breed awards. His very first Best of Breed at the Royal Melbourne Show was one of my fondest memories. He won Dog Challenge, 17 Points and Best of Breed, this followed many lovely Challenges in years to come.

Not just a pretty face Ikie gained his Community Companion Dog Title in Obedience with ease, soon after gaining his Grand Championship.

Although rarely shown after this time, Ikon was still exhibited at major Shows winning his final Best of Breed at the Royal Melbourne Show at almost 10 years of age. He has also won many Placings in Veterans Sweepstakes that he was entered, and was a favourite for junior handlers to show in junior handlers Classes.

My thanks to Fran Hussey-Allen of Llancarfan Kennels for giving me my very favourite Christmans present in Ikon, and for her endless support. Ikie recently celebrated his 18th Birthday and still demands his chicken carcass each morning, loves to be groomed and pampered and bounces around happily.
