Aust Champion Plattwood Darcy TD
He was a typical Welsh – happy to be sleeping at your feet, walking, running through the park or chasing ducks.
He gained his title easily – despite having the worst groomer and handler in the world (me!) and, as a youngster won several In Group awards.
D'arcy sired our first litter, the Maesgwyn Precious Gems. He retired quite young from the show ring and his prematurely grey muzzle only added to his distinguished good looks, but he was still a puppy at heart and you would often find him rolling around with his grandson or bouncing about with his favourite Duck toy.
D'arcy came out of retirement for the Welsh Springer Spaniel Club of NSW Easter 2010 shows and won Veteran in Show under Mrs Meghen Riese Bassel of Statesmans Kennels, USA.
At the grand age of 14 years, D'arcy started tracking and gained his TD title on 24/8/2013. D'arcy esd mostly deaf and blind in one eye, but he worked slowly and methodically to the end of the track. D'arcy won quite a few hearts along the way to his Tracking Dog title. He also won the Tracking Club of Victoria Old Gold Trophy for 2014. Thank you to our tracking mentor, Alyson Mills for her help, support and unwavering faith in our dear D'arcy.
We said farewell to our beautiful boy on 3 February 2014 - just one week after his 15th birthday. He will forever be in our hearts and has left a wonderful legacy.
