Valleyriver Kennels has been my dream since I was a teenager and now forty years later and on the other side of the world we live on a 5 acre block with tons of room for the dogs to run around and no neighbours within sight or sound. Our dogs are first and foremost our pets, they sleep inside with us and we have rotas for the sofas!

Our aim is to produce show ring quality Staffords but nothing is more important to us than temperament. We want stunning dogs with that wonderful loving nature that the breed is famous for. All our dogs are DNA tested and clear and there is no history of allergies or skin conditions in our lines.

Our foundation bitch and matriarch of Valleyriver is Keira (Foxestown Catherine Ellen). She has the very best bloodlines behind her and has a sister, brother, father, uncle, grandmother, grandfather etc all Champions in the show ring. She has correct conformation and is very intelligent as well as beautiful in looks and nature.

Our puppies are sold with a contract stating they are not to be used for breeding or showing. However, we can easily lift the showing restriction. Valleyriver offers lifetime support to all our puppy families.

We are a small kennel just outside Christchurch who have been involved in Staffords for 33 years. It wasn't until Morgan (BISS Renegade Apache Brew) joined my family in 2006 that I decided to enter the show ring. The rest is history. In that time Morgan became a New Zealand Champion and Best in Speciality Show winner - I was hooked. We sadly said goodbye to Morgan far too soon in 2014.
We have showed 3 of Morganâ€™s offspring which produced 3 New Zealand Champions, two of whom became Best In Show winners.

We have owned Staffords since 2000 and have been exhibiting our dogs in the show ring since 2008. We bred our first litter in 2017 and only breed when wanting to keep a puppy ourselves.

Here at Valleyriver Kennels we have 5 beautiful boys available. 3 red, 1 brindle and 1 very dark. They will be ready for their new homes around the 9/10 November which is perfect timing as they will have had all their vax and be ready for adventures in time for the holidays!.
