A proven, working gundog, (not just one who stands in the water looking good), Stan was brilliant in the field and loved nothing better than retrieving game. Excellent in the water and on land, with exceptional marking ability, Stan made it look effortless. He was Chris's best mate and was a great teacher for the younger dogs, passing on all his expertise over the past duck seasons.

Stan passed away in March 2014 at the grand age of 13 years old. He loved nothing better than kicking back and taking it easy, much to his disgust - with his days spent mostly sleeping on the sofa. The mind was willing, but the old body was beginning to slow down.

He was a very gentle, friendly and laidback dog, Stan adored socialising with people & other dogs (particularly with Lab & Staffy puppies), at the local Field & Game clay target shoots. He loved being taken for walks by the many children he made friends with. Stan's favourite spot (apart from in front of the fire at home) was the front seat of Chris's car.
