In the home he is a cuddly teddy bear who loves nothing more than sleeping upside down on the lounge or lying across you. He enjoyed his retirement with his girls with an occasional outing in the Veterans class which he loves though Freddie did drive him mad on occasion.
The best thing about Basty, apart from his good looks, is his character - he loves everyone and everything, except male black dogs of any breed having been attacked by three dogs in his life - a black Lab & two different black Staffords. I am always amazed at how he gets on with all the dogs I bring home - male or female, he is an easy going dog that is a pleasure to own. He had a small part in an Australian movie - The Oyster Farmer, where everyone wanted to take him home.
As a stud dog he has been successful with 3 Champions. He was not the best stud dog in the world due to a 'lady' damaging his manhood early in life.
He lived until a ripe of age of 16, still miss you Basty Boo, you dopey Bast...d
