I was about 9 years old when Rose-anne came into my life. I spent many dog shows eager at ring side to see Delwyn with her beautifully presented black bitches enter the ring. If you will I was their fan club. Those two beautiful girls were Rose-anne and Corkey. I could hardly wait untill Delwyn had finished showing so that I could talk her ear off about this loverly breed.
Rose-anne loved to take a ride with me on the ride-on mower it was our favorite past time and if you couldn't find her anywhere in the yard, without fail she would be curled up fast asleep on it's seat.
I would like to thank Murray and Delwyn Barnett (L'Trend American Cocker Spaniels) for the privalege of allowing me to own my very first Yank.
WAITING
I got to the gate of heaven today, after we said goodbye,
I began to miss you terribly, because I heard you cry,
Suddenly there was an angel, and she asked me to enter heaven's gate,
I asked her if I could stay outside for someone who would be late.
I wouldn't make much noise you see, I wouldn't bark or howl,
I'll only wait here paciently and play with my tennis ball,
The angel said I could stay right here and wait for you to come, Because heaven just wouldn't be heaven if I went in alone,
So I'll wait right here, you take your time,
but keep you in my heart,
Because heaven wouldn't be heaven without you,
to warm my heart.
