Update December 2020: New information has come to light that a possible mid line closure defect runs in his line. It has again been produced in a litter from one of his progeny (Becksbest Heart On Fire) where a mild BIFID nose has appeared.

Bifid nose is a rare congenital malformation of presumed autosomal dominant or recessive inheritance characterized by clefting of the nose ranging from a minimally noticeable groove in the columella to complete clefting of the underlying bones and cartilage (resulting in two half noses) with a usually adequate airway. Bifid nose may be seen in frontonasal dysplasia while other malformations such as hypertelorbitism and midline clefts of the lip may also be associated.

Discussions are currently underway with the vets at University of Qld, Geneticists and the professors at the University of Sydney who are doing a study into these type of genetic disorders.

Blue is desexed and is no longer available for stud. He was never collected.

Mystiqview Border Collies have decided with the presentation of this fault, we are no longer continuing with this line. ALL our breeding animals associated with this line are being desexed.
