Shale has been competitive throughout his career with some notable achievements along the way. In 2003 Shale was Best in Show from the Junior class at the Queensland Boxer Club Championship show under breed specialist Peter Foster. Mr Foster's critique stated, "Excellent breed type. A standout from the moment he entered the ring. Excellent head type. Balance angulation both front and rear."
This win has been followed up with an All Breeds Best in Show and numerous class in show and class in group awards. Shale was awarded Reserve Dog Challenge at the 2005 Queensland Boxer Club Championship show, Best Dog at the Queensland Boxer Club Open Show and Best of Breed at the following metropolitan All Breeds show; all in one weekend.
Shale was titled as 12 month old having collected three Best in Groups along the way.
Shale qualified for the Queensland Top Dog competition in 2002 as a puppy and in 2003 as an adult. He has qualified for the Zone 2 finals in 2007.
In addition to his physical qualities, Shale's wonderful temperament makes him a pleasure to live with.
Shale came to be the first homebred champion for Saxonee Boxers thanks to the generousity of Mrs Julie Lawson (Telde Boxers) who entrusted his mother, Pheobe to me. Julie Lawson truly has the best interests of this breed in her heart and her record as a breeder is demonstated by the quality boxers that carry the Telde name. I hope than I can continue to build on the excellent foundation that I was gifted.
