Judge Profile

I have been a qualified Group 1 judge for a few years and hope to eventually get groups 4,5 and 7, before going on to any other groups. My show history began with my family's German Shepherd and Border Collie, before they changed to Greyhounds. I have co-owned Basenji's, a Rough Coat Collie, an Alaskan Malamute and Whippets; and bred S.A's Battle of the Champion / Puppy of the Year (All Breeds) whippet (Champion Hydale Dymond Duval). I have been awarded top adult handler of the year by the Chihuahua Club of S.A., and have successfully handled Italian Greyhounds, Miniature Pinschers, Tibetan Spaniels, Lakeland Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Clumber Spaniels, Borzois, Dachshunds, Irish Wolfhounds, Australian Cattle Dogs and Kelpies, Boxers, Samoyeds, Shiba Inus, Poodles and Schipperkes, for my friends in the dog world (Australia and overseas). My perception of understanding a breed, is to exhibit the specimen in the ring for others. In this way,I am availed the opportunity to learn about the breed through a 'hands-on' approach; about tricks for grooming and stacking, and for the general 'feel' of the dog at the end of the lead, instead of just viewing the animal from the side of the ring.
