About MacKillop Bichon Frise MacKillop named after Australia’s First Saint… Mary MacKillop. My name is Renee Strathearn and I have been owning, raising and breeding Bichon Frise for more than 20 years. At MacKillop Bichon Frise, my goal is simple: to produce healthy, well-adjusted puppies that exemplify the affectionate temperament, intelligence and joyful personality that make the Bichon Frise such a treasured companion breed. My breeding philosophy is guided by a principle I have followed for many years: “Start the way you want it to end.” This applies not only to breeding decisions, but also to puppy raising, socialisation, training foundations and the selection of suitable homes. I believe the best outcomes are achieved through careful planning, consistency and a lifelong commitment to each puppy’s wellbeing. As a Registered Nurse with more than 25 years of experience across adult, paediatric, Special Care Nursery settings, I bring a strong understanding of neonatal development, health monitoring and early care. Combined with my scientific background, this experience has shaped my evidence-based approach to breeding and puppy development. Every breeding is carefully planned using pedigree research, DNA health testing, temperament assessment and bloodline analysis. I utilise quality Australian and imported bloodlines and place significant emphasis on health, sound structure, stable temperament and genetic diversity. We aim to breed Truly Saintly Bichon Frise….
