Working with German Shorthaired Pointers for over 30 years, we are a small family run breeder that pride ourselves on continuing the championship blood lines that make our PointLock breed. Coming from champion lines both here and New Zealand, in Germany and also the USA; our PointLock puppies will be amazing family companions, an excellent hunting dog in pest and game, intelligent and trainable. Our litter of puppies were born 5/7/24 pm and will be available in September. Puppies will come microchipped, vet checked and vaccinated, registered via Dogs Victoria, basic obedience training and any support the new owners may need.

We are a small family owned Kennel in East Gippsland Victoria.Before our puppies leave for new homes We try to ensure that they are set up to become great family dogs for all ages. Our puppies are raised in our home where they get to interact with our other dogs, visitors and family members coming and going regularly. Like most children our young grandchildren love puppy time where they get to help socialise our puppies to the younger generation. While our puppies are inside they get introduced to general household noises, crate and toilet training. When puppies are old enough they head out to a heated pen with an outside run. Of a daytime they get to experience general farm life where they see horses, cattle, cats, and poultry of mixed breeds. Farm life gives our puppies plenty of space to run and romp and enjoy being a pup. At the appropriate times they will be microchipped, vaccinated and vet checked . Avemcanis – Breeders of Fine German Shorthaired Pointers for Home and Field Our journey with German Shorthaired Pointers began in 2003, when we welcomed our first GSP, Pointgold Apollo (Kez), into our lives. Hand-selected for us by Steve and Kim Burke of Pointgold Kennels, Kez was everything we could have hoped for in a dog—wonderful temperament, natural hunting drive, and a loyal companion at home. His talent in the field quickly shone through, earning him a Field Trial Championship, and he went on to sire several litters that carried his outstanding qualities forward. From one of those litters came our next champion, Doginit Sambuca (Reggie), another exceptional dog who followed in Kez’s footsteps by achieving his own Field Trial Championship. Reggie proved to be an influential sire, producing litters in Australia and abroad. His legacy continues through our current line of dams, including Field Trial Champion Stedipoint Are You Serious (Tess) and Avemcanis Rizzo (Riz), both of whom carry forward the hallmark traits of drive, bird-finding ability, and sound temperament. Over the years, we have been fortunate to own, train, and breed some of Australia’s finest bird-finding GSPs. What has always mattered most to us, however, is balance—dogs that perform at the highest level in the field, yet remain calm, affectionate, and loyal companions at home. Avemcanis, breeding philosophy is simple: to continue producing premium German Shorthaired Pointers
