Our breeding dogs are health checked and have had a variety of health tests dog which varies from dog to dog and age as to what has been done tests include: Hips, spine, eyes, RFG, parentage DNA and Breed relevant DNA. We have owned and bred Chows for over 30 years, just love this breed. Our pack have Red or Black colours, with Ruff or Smooth coats. We also show our Chows to confirm that they conform to the Chow Chow breed standard. We are a small breeder/exhibitor kennel where our Chows are household members, pampered pets first, show dogs second. We health test our Chows to try and ensure healthy active pups. Our dogs are Hip & Elbow scored and ACES eye test to confirm their health prior to breeding. We have worked hard with our associates within the breed and feel that we have helped contribute to improve the breed. All our pups are house reared, house trained and socialised with sound of temperament, mind, and body. Information about this unique breed freely imparted. Breeding/Exhibiting/Grooming/Rescue Rynkls Shar Pei and Chow is a small but successful kennel located in the small vilage of Bungendore -just outside of Canberra. We are activley involved in the pursuit of excellence through tough but fair competition. We wont bore you with meaningless detail except to say we CURRENTLY enjoy successes in the show ring as well as proving the versatility of our dogs in other disciplines. We DO NOT hang off the coat tails of out-dated results. We are also active members of the dog community serving on a number of committee’s and holding membership to a number of related clubs. We contribute to the development and welfare of the Chow (and dogs in general) through public education, rescue work and breed specific training. Chowleigh Kennels was established in 1972 by Bob and Merle Williams and today is also helped by daughters Narelle and Claire. Chowleigh Kennels have imported 19 Chow Chows over the years from both the UK and USA. They are currently working with lines from both countries which have allowed them to produce quality examples of the breed and the pedigrees they work with and produce can be found in many foundation dogs of kennels around the country and in NZ. Consistently producing Best In Show and Group winners, Chowleigh Kennels ultimately aim to produce puppies which not only look great on the outside but are also healthy and sound. They have been hip scoring their breeding dogs since 1982 and elbow scoring since 1994 and hope to see the breed continue on its way to a long and healthy future. We raise puppies with current knowledge of best practice to promote positive developmental milestones. We raise our puppies with Puppy Culture and Early Neurological Stimulation. We work on puppy manners, crate training, potty training, weekly grooming and assess their temperament to help match puppies with their homes at 9 weeks. As poodle owners for over 30 years we wish to see the best of the breed maintained by breeding healthy, strong dogs with great temperament. Our dogs are DNA tested, health checked and hip scored with excelled results. They live with us in our home, are obedience trained. As a Psychologist I work with our Therapy dogs in the mental health field, the puppies are also given exposure to a number of environments including hospitals.
