At Awildian Irish Terriers, we love our wirehaired little pack. Our dogs are well-adjusted to family life and we have found them to be a willing and loyal breed.
The Irish is one of the oldest breeds of terrier and originates from rural life in Ireland. Due to its loyalty and courage the Irish became popular at the turn of last century and was known as the “gentleman’s dog.” These are the traits that this breed is still known for today.
Awildian maintain both looks and temperament in our dogs and are dedicated to upholding the integrity of the breed in Australia. Our dogs have plenty of ‘pluck’ as terriers do. They equally love companionship of an evening, curled up at your feet, calm & relaxed.
We live approximately halfway between Melbourne and Adelaide in a small rural town. Our dogs fit well into our adventurous country lifestyle of camping, hiking, canoeing, swimming and beach play.
