Here at Windybrae, we pride ourselves on breeding dogs that are sound and of great temperament.

All our dogs are DNA tested for heritable traits and diseases, eyes checked by a certified canine ophthalmologist and hips & elbows scored under the ORCHID/CHEDS scheme.

We are nestled in the Mid North of South Australia and occasionally have puppies available to loving homes who can spend time with these wonderful, intelligent, active dogs.

Prefix : WINDYBRAE (Miniature American Shepherd)

A long time love affair with Australian Shepherds has brought us to our love of the Miniature American Shepherd and our first import into South Australia.

Arriving the first week of May 2024, from Hampton Hills Miniature American Shepherds comes "Arwen" - Hampton Hills Faith Works @ Windybrae and a wonderful friendship and mentorship with her breeder, Jennifer Hampton.

MAS, as they are affectionately known, are becoming a very popular breed in the country for those of us with a love of "Aussies" who wanted something a bit smaller. To have an excellent quality young dog as a foundation to our small breeding program, is indeed an honour and a privilege.

Several people unfamiliar with MAS have said, "Oh, she looks just like an Aussie." Indeed they should look exactly like an Aussie, only smaller.

Only just turning 12 months old, in time, Arwen will be bred to imported semen in close consultation with her breeder.

She has so far tested clear for Neuroaxonal Dystrophy (NAD) and non-HSF4 cataracts with the rest of her DNA testing to be completed in the next couple of months.

Here at Windybrae, we pride ourselves on breeding dogs that are sound and of great temperament.
All our dogs can be traced back to the Pemvale prefix of Kitty and Peter Flynn, who helped us get started in the breed and encouraged us to show our Pembrokes.
We are nestled in the Mid North of South Australia and occasionally have puppies available to loving homes who can spend time with this intelligent and active breed that has a lust for life and people.

Puppies are confirmed and are due around April 2nd. We expect red & white and tricolour puppies. All will have full tails. This litter has been two years in the planning and we're very excited to see what Bryn and Elena can produce.
Puppies will be available from mid-June at 10 weeks of age.
