We purchased our first German Shepherd in 1975 after the 25 year import ban was lifted. This is when we fell in love with this beautiful and noble breed. They are a large part of our family, my children have grown up with them, we couldn't imagine life without our dogs. Vanharley Kennels was est.in 1985. Since this time we have sought to achieve a combination of solid breeding lines combining strength of character, correct construction and soundness of body & mind. Always using the best bloodlines available & following the Breed Improvement Schemes for Hips, Elbows, Haemophelia & Breed Survey through the German Shep.Dog Council of Aust.,who have awarded me a "GOLD Medal" for the amount of progeny bred who have achieved their "A"/"Z". Dogs who have not only passed the scheme for elbows and achieved the 'Z' stamp, but who have a score of '0' on both elbows. I have maintained my base lines that combine the best bloodlines available, which include Gold Medal winners & Champions, to these I have added top producing Sieger & VA lines from Germany. Dogs such as these help to maintain the quality I have come to expect in my kennels, to produce dogs that can go out in public & make me proud of their achievements, such as:

We have a beautiful long stock coat female Aust CH/GOLD MEDAL 'VANHARLEY PROMISCIOUS GIRL' (Prada) "A" "Z" BsCLI, who is our first long stock coat to be campaigned in the show ring.

She has always been placed highly in her shows, with the pinicle being GOLD MEDAL 1st place open at our recent German Shepherd National Show.

And was "GSDCV BEST PUPPY OF THE YEAR" in her puppy days then went on to be classified AUST CHAMPION and win the GSDCA GOLD MEDAL.

We look forward to a promising future with her.
