Structurally very sound, of lovely type and true movement, his strong masculine head is his stand out feature. A big boy, he stands at 51cm, toward the upper end of the breed standard.
Known as Mr Smooth or "Kooool-ta" he has quite the persona as the typical "aussie bloke" who is really just a big old softie! Consequently all the men want to be his mate, and all the women just fall in love!
He taught me so much about how to motivate a dog who just wasn't motivated by much except girls and sniffing trees, and the performance titles I earned on him, although not as high as what I have earned on some of my other dogs, have been some of the proudest.
He was also the toughest introduction imaginable for a new show exhibitor, with getting even two seconds of showmanship out of him a sheer struggle. That was until he hit close to veteran age, and was retired from the show ring, when he decided his once or twice a year outing was just the best fun imaginable. Those ventures now delight his multitude of fans ringside as he struts around like he owns the place and really hams up to the crowd! You can't help but cheer for the old guy!
He has always, and continues to, consistently hold his own, being awarded the reserve challenge at the 2006, 2008 and 2011 Melbourne Royal Shows (the last of those under a Finnish judge). He was Best Veteran in Show at our first championship specialty in 2012, and followed that up with Reserve Dog Challenge at 10 years of age at our 2013 show under a breed specialist from Finland, from a breed entry of 72.
He's just a bit of a legend really!
