She did not begin her show career until she was 15 mths old & was truly a once in a lifetime dog. It wasn't our intention to show her for the Gr Ch title but we felt the 1st should be a dog worthy of the title & not one dragged to show after show. No smoke & mirrors, just a sound moving, correct and exceptional type.
Tazz is the only DDBx awarded BIS or RuBIS at any All Breeds Ch Show in Oz. There is no DDBx even close to her show record here & her achievements at All Breeds level make her one of the top Dogues in the World. This girl definitely has the credentials to back the hype!
18 Royal CC's (13 BOB) - a feat which may never be matched! In '01 at Sydney Royal German Judge J. Eberhardt stated 'of the DDBx rarely have I seen one so good' & described Tazz as 'the blueprint for the breed'. She was Group placed at Royal level 3 times - '01:BIG 3rd, '02:BIG 2nd & '04:BIG 2nd (again)! In '04 Finnish Judge K. Jarvinen called her 'World Class!' It was back then rare for the breed to place in Group in Europe so these are achievements under European judges of which we are very proud. Despite this record she was ignored by Aust judges for many years only being recognised at the age of 5 meaning well over 1/4 of her 1000 points came from Royal CC's.
2nd in her class under Spanish Judge R. Alcrudo at the World Show '02 to winning bitch Mar (Spain) with an 'Excellent' critique. Tazz comes from one of Europes most successful 'families' with sister Bibi and nephew Toezzz becoming Dutch CH's in just 4 shows (including Specialties) and Toezzz was also European Champ '04 & multi BISS winner.
Tazz retired from the ring over 6yrs of age with a final res CC to Blondie at Sydney Royal '05. She developed a synovial cell sarcoma in her elbow joint & spent almost 3 happy yrs as an amputee!
Tazz passed away on the 18/10/08
