West Coast Maremma Rescue is seeking expressions of interest for Cooper.
Cooper is a two year old male. He is a lovely boy who is showing strong guardian traits. Cooper is good with our stock and chickens and has been trustworthy with ewes and lambs and is good with children. He has energy to burn and has grown into a confident, independent dog. He is good with other dogs, but can be dominant. He would suit a working home where he is also a loved member of the family and working in a partnership with his "Shepherd". Cooper is a fence climber so will need fences 1500mm high or rural farm fencing with a hot wire. Cooper is sterilised, vaccinated and wormed.
Nino is 18 months old and has blossomed into a terrific dog. He is going well with chickens, goats, sheep, cows and horses. Nino loves his humans and is suited to a home where he can be part of the family, but have a job to do protecting your poultry or stock. He is still young and will require an owner committed to continue guiding and supervising him, especially while he is bonding to you, your animals and property. Maremma are not solitary dogs and flouish in a pack so he needs a home preferably with another Maremma or Livestock Guardian dog. Excellent fencing is required and you need to be willing to be mentored to ensure a successful rehoming. Nino is sterilised, vaccinated and wormed. Nino is sound, however x-rays show mild subluxation of left hip.
Adoption fee is $850
I have 3 year old male maremma. He is very friendly and gentle. He is looking for a new home. He didnt quite make it as a working boy. He prefers to be with people. He is very friendly and has reasonable recall for a maremma
He is desexed and all his vet work is up to date
Maremmas are very protective and are defence barkers- so they will bark at anything strange or anyone different that approaches their home turf.
Maremmas are independent thinkers and protective of their family and territory.
The breed was developed to protect sheep and will bond to their new family such as chickens, sheep, goats, and even their human family and defend them against threats.
