Peter Boyes (NZ)

Peter Boyes has been actively involved in pedigree dogs for over four decades, having purchased his first pedigree dog in 1978 and his first Rhodesian Ridgeback in 1983. He has exhibited Rhodesian Ridgebacks in New Zealand since 2015 and has titled five dogs to date.

Peter is a founder member of the Rhodesian Ridgeback Union (RRU) in New Zealand and currently serves on the Association’s committee as Secretary. He has bred Rhodesian Ridgebacks under the Sandridge prefix since 2018. He is also a committee member of the Huntly & District Kennel Association, a member of the Franklin Kennel Association, and is a member of the Auckland Branch of the New Zealand Dog Judges Association.

He has served on the Dogs NZ Canine Health & Welfare Committee for six years and is the current Chairman. In addition, Peter writes a regular feature on canine health and welfare issues for NZ Dog World magazine.

Outside of the canine world, Peter is a globally recognised public relations consultant specialising in healthcare communications, bringing a strong governance, ethics and evidence-based perspective to his work within Dogs NZ and the wider dog community.
