My first venture into Australian Shepherds was BIS RUBIS GRAND Ch Wlkabout Dash Ov Cajun who was a Best in Show & Runner up Best in Show All Breeds Winner. He has been awarded Best of Breeds Brisbane & Toowoomba Royals & is a multiple Best in Group class in group & show winner. Cajun was the 1st Grand Ch in Qld and would have easily qualified as a Supreme Champion today. Cajun was the top Aussie in Qld for 3 years prior to semi retirement in 2005.

I also campaigned Gr Ch Comeby Sargon Ruler in Qld and put over 600 points on him whilst he lived with me including many Best in Groups and Runner up Best In Show in metropolitan Brisbane.

Our current adult Aussie is Ch Wajoma Freefall On Wall Street who has easily titled with some lovely wins along the way from the puppy class!

My new baby is from Maisilva Kennels in Taylor aka Maisilva Shades Of Grey and already is a multi in group and in show awards.

In 2003 we starting showing Aussie's with some success. In 2005 after much research into the breed we started our own breeding program. Nearly 20 years of running training classes for families and their pets I understand the need for steady temperaments in the dogs that we breed.

My breeding dogs are also family pets they live in the house and are involved in the family activities - also used as Balance Dogs in the training classes helping other dogs to develop good social skills. We are also proud to promote our Aussies with the Demo Team or visiting at schools.

We might have two or three litters a year - Partly because of the time we devote to the social development of these little dudes. Also as our dogs are pets it means that we don't run a large number of dogs.

Our pups are not born in a whelping room instead they are born under the dining room table and live in our lounge room through most of their life with us. This allows us to observe them for hours and hours a day to watch how they develop.

Pups are socialised from an early age, initially with lots of visitors (especially kids) and as they become more mobile they learn to explore the garden and meet other creatures around the farm. We also take our pups out in the car for visits to friends where they get to meet new dogs as well as cats or chickens.

By the time these pups are ready to go to their new homes at 8-9 weeks they are confident, happy and outgoing. Ready to start a new life and bond with their new family.

I have been involved with the Australian Shepherd as a breed for 6 years and in that time have successfully titled THREE Australian Champions one well on the way to an Australian Grand Champion, we also have our first home bred babies representing us with some amazing results in the NSW show rings!

Loving my dogs is easy - they are spoilt and are a large part of my family.

My partner and I entertain our lives between showing and breeding quarter horses and Appaloosas and have done so for 15+ years in that time we have had many successful show wins nationally and internationally.

So for us an Aussie was a seamless transition! Yes we started with one but like we were told owning an Aussie is an addiction..... we now house 5 aussies and I am sure there will be more on the way.

Shartooz Kennels has been associated with Australian Shepherds since 1994. Sayly Australian Shepherds is home to Aust Champion Tuscamada LouLou's Legend (Holly) and Tuscamada Look Into My Eyes (Pandora).

My Aussies are first and foremost family pets.

Any Aussies intended to be used for breeding purposes will be DNA tested for HC, CEA, MDR1 and PRA, hip and elbow scored and eye tested. Puppies will be eye checked, vaccinated and microchipped.

I don't have a litter planned at this time.

Our home and lives are shared with our Australian Shepherds. With structure and genetic stability in mind; we aim to produce typey Australian Shepherds of healthy, flawless temperaments, with genuine working ability typical to the breed.

Dogs considered for breeding are Profiled, Hip and Elbow scored, undergo Annual Opthamoligist Eye Screening and are DNA tested for MDR1, NBT, CEA and HC. Puppies are fed on a premium diet and are wormed, vaccinated and microchipped as well as Eye Screened before leaving for their new homes after 8 weeks. Copies of all paperwork is provided with your pup's original SACA Registration Papers and a signed full health guarantee and agreement of sale.

With quality temperaments, movement and structure as our goal; expression of interest in puppies is most welcome for companion or competition homes.
