This is a very sad situation, and the owners are reluctantly hoping to place these treasured companions who they have loved and who loved them for many years. Burt and Winnie have lived together for over eight years. They were rescued separately and had been both mal nourished and mistreated, before coming to their present home. Since then they have been lovingly cared for and treasured. Sadly their elderly owners are being moved into care, as their own health has declined to the point where they just can't cope without assisted living. Burt is 11 1/2 years with a hunched spine due to arthritis and a few lumps. Winnie is 13 1/2 years and she also has a couple of growths. Both these dogs are still very active, but spend a large amount of time lazing about in the house and sleeping. Is there someone special out there who can help these two loyal dogs? If you think you could provide a loving home to these two senior Weimaraners, who cannot go with their owners (which is breaking the owners hearts) please contact Marg. |

Poor Bruno was seized from his owner by the RSPCA. They estimated him to be about 2 years old. He had a rough start to life - a broken leg that was never repaired, a severe flea allergy and very little, if any, TLC. He has now had his broken leg amputated, his skin is well on the way to recovery and he is just craving to be loved. We are amazed at how well he has adjusted to losing a leg, jumping up onto his carer's back verandah and down again to get in and out of the house has not proved to be a problem. He is currently living in complete harmony with a young Weimaraner bitch (after appropriate initial introductions). Despite all he has been through he still appears to have a loving, happy, well adjusted temperament and is very friendly to all visitors - male and female. His foster carer descibes him as "a sweet, loving young man who is keen to please". Bruno has been desexed, is up-to-date with worming/heartworm treatments and vaccinations. There will be some short term care requied to help restore Bruno to full health (ie weekly bathing to help his skin recover. If you would like more details please contact me as above. Jet is a smart boy who has had may disruptions in his short life that have left him insecure and unsure of his place in this world. Initially Jet will require a safe, calm household. He needs a leader who is willing to give direction to this dog and to also let him settle in. Weimaraner Rescue are seeking dog savvy owners. It is preferable that his new owners have experience with adopting a large breed dog and who are willing to let Jet settle into his new digs in his own time. Jet is fully vaccinated, microchipped and sterilised.
