Judge Profile

I have been involved in the breeding and exhibiting of Samoyeds since 1970 under the Internationally reknowned kennel prefix “Kimchatka”. Since that time I have bred over 80 Champions (5 of which are Grand Champions), and have owned or bred 15 Best in Show winners at All-Breeds Championship shows. Kimchatka also bred “Dogzonline” No 1 Samoyed Australia 2004, 2005, 2006, & 2007. I have also successfully exhibited Whippets, and was the primary handler of Australia’s No. 1 Chow Chow who is a Supreme Champion with multi Best in Show awards.

I am an International All-Breeds judge, and I have been judging since 1980 - I have judged extensively throughout Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the USA, India, Thailand, Indonnesia, Malaysia, Taiwan, The Philippines, Sri Lanka, Singapore & China.

I am an accredited examiner with the Australian National Kennel Council and I was also in charge of the training of judges for the Utility Group in South Australia. I have also examined judges for the Kennel Club of Thailand

My involvement with the running of dog clubs has been for many years in various capacities. I was President of the Canine Fanciers Kennel Club, and was an elected member of the South Australian Canine Assn Council, which is the Management board for the State of South Australia - I was also Chair of the of the Disciplinary Committee.

I co-owned “Dogtainers Adelaide” a very successful company which transports animals all over the world, and has a network of 13 Agents throughout Australia. It is the largest business of it’s kind in the country with an extensive network including around 1,000 hire crates. We sold the business in in 2013 and I am now happily retired. I moved to Melbourne in 2015 where I now reside in the lovely township of Mornington with my new partner Allan Coombs.

I no longer breed or exhibit dogs, but am still actively judging dogs, which is a pastime I am passionate about.
