Rynkls Shar Pei and Chow is a small but successful kennel located in the small vilage of Bungendore -just outside of Canberra. We are activley involved in the pursuit of excellence through tough but fair competition. We wont bore you with meaningless detail except to say we CURRENTLY enjoy successes in the show ring as well as proving the versatility of our dogs in other disciplines. We DO NOT hang off the coat tails of out-dated results.

Rynkls Chows are committed to maintaining the excellent type and temperament of the Chow that has been developed through thoughtful breeding throughout many generations. We are also active members of the dog community serving on a number of committee’s and holding membership to a number of related clubs. We contribute to the development and welfare of the Chow (and dogs in general) through public education, rescue work and breed specific training. We have been consulted on many occasions and have had articles published in well know dog media.

I am a small kennel in country N.S.W. I Have owned and been owned by the loyal and noble chow chow for almost thirty years.I purchased my first chow chow in 1981. A lovely black girl. Our chows are pets first show second. Even though we only occasionally show we have had good success in the show ring with our "kids". Win or lose we love them dearly. We have always tried to breed correct size. After all they were originally bred for hunting, herding etc. So should be an active dog. They are wonderful house dogs and beautiful companions.

Been with this breed for almost 30 years and with smoothies since 1993. Just imported a black smooth female from Finland out of well-known and awarded Finnish, Swedish, Norwegian, Dutch, German and English bloodlines. She is officially health tested (hips, elbows, knees, eyes + no entropion). Finished her title in Finland being one one of the youngest smooth BOB winning females there. All the possible colours in her 5 gen pedigree. 58 out of 62 chows in her pedigree have hip scores of which 55 have healthy hips + several of them have also their elbows, knees and eyes officially tested. We also have two smooth males (cream and black) available at stud. It’ll be soon time to start our next import project :)

Chowleigh Kennels was established in 1972 by Bob and Merle Williams and today is also helped by daughters Narelle and Claire. Chowleigh Kennels have imported 19 Chow Chows over the years from both the UK and USA. We are currently working with lines from both countries which have allowed us to produce quality examples of the breed. Consistently producing In Show and Group winners, we at Chowleigh Kennels ultimately aim to produce puppies which not only look great on the outside but are healthy on the inside. We have been hip scoring since 1982 and elbow scoring since 1994. I have owned, shown and loved Chow Chows for 30 years. I love the breed and indeed will never have another breed of dog and will always have Chows in my life. My dogs are family members and live in the house as part of my family. They also share the home with cats.
I am very excited to welcome into our family my import from the Chowleigh Kennels in Australia - Chowleigh Pacific Star (imp Aust) aka Archie. At his very first show Archie won Best Baby Puppy in Show, not bad for a baby 3 months and 1 day old. Archie is now a NZ champion gaining his title at 12 mths old and now at 2yrs old has an impressive show record winning a Best in Show, 2 Reserve Best in Shows, multiple class in shows and groups.
I have now welcomed another Chowleigh baby, Chowleigh Star Maker (Sakura). Currently only 15 months old she is also a NZ champion, has won 5 Best Baby Puppy in Shows, and multiple best class of groups and in shows. Her future is as exciting as Archie's and hopefully one day further down the track Archie and Sakura will make baby stars of their own.
The dogs are officially screened for hip and elbow dysplasia, DNA tested for PRA and DNA profiled.

After many years of interest and studying the breed, Timewolf was delighted to welcome our first Chow, a cream bitch Stella ‘Aus Champion Ersa Stellar’ to our family in 2018. As we began to campaign Stella in the WA show ring, we were then able to welcome Carter ‘Malaboo Frozen In Time (AI)’ (a red boy) and Spooky ‘Malaboo The Truth is Out There’ (black boy) to our show team.

Timewolf chows have been consistently successful in the show ring, winning countless breed, group, and in show level awards between them.

We have the start of some fantastic proven Australian lines as well as imported lines from England & Europe. Here at TIMEWOLF we aim to continue to better the quality of Chow in Australia .

Outside of the show ring our Chows enjoy spending most of their time lounging around the house or playing with their toys and the other dogs. Here at TIMEWOLF the dogs are our family. We do not raise our dogs in kennels. We ensure that our dogs are raised in a family environment. They live happily with young children, cats, and other animals. We believe that part of raising a good show dog, is to also raise a good family dog.

Between our three Spitz breeds at TIMEWOLF we have a few litters planned for 2020 and 2021 and are currently taking applications for our waiting list. As responsible breeders, it is important to us that all our dogs/puppies are placed in the right homes. We are a small kennel, usually breeding one litter in a year.
Our progeny does well in All Breeds competitions, often achieving recognition at the Group Level.
After a long hiatus, we are expecting some great litters from Ch Woollybutts Kereru Procer (Kere) and our new boy Canute Take a Chance on Me (Whio). Their first litter of four included 3 rough, 1 smooth - blue, black, red and fawn. They are all in their respective "furever" homes now. We are hoping for a second litter from this pair in the Spring of 2021.
