Rynkls Shar Pei and Chow is a small but successful kennel located in the small vilage of Bungendore -just outside of Canberra. We are activley involved in the pursuit of excellence through tough but fair competition. We wont bore you with meaningless detail except to say we CURRENTLY enjoy successes in the show ring as well as proving the versatility of our dogs in other disciplines. We DO NOT hang off the coat tails of out-dated results.

Rynkls Chows are committed to maintaining the excellent type and temperament of the Chow that has been developed through thoughtful breeding throughout many generations. We acknowledge the our mentors at Chowleigh and Partners at Katasia -we could not be this successful without them.

We are also active members of the dog community serving on a number of committee’s and holding membership to a number of related clubs. We contribute to the development and welfare of the Chow (and dogs in general) through public education, rescue work and breed specific training. Been with this breed for almost 30 years and with smoothies since 1993. Just imported a black smooth female from Finland out of well-known and awarded Finnish, Swedish, Norwegian, Dutch, German and English bloodlines. She is officially health tested (hips, elbows, knees, eyes + no entropion). Finished her title in Finland being one one of the youngest smooth BOB winning females there. All the possible colours in her 5 gen pedigree. 58 out of 62 chows in her pedigree have hip scores of which 55 have healthy hips + several of them have also their elbows, knees and eyes officially tested. We also have two smooth males (cream and black) available at stud. It’ll be soon time to start our next import project :)

MOONCHOW Chow Chows (Formally TIMEWOLF) After many years of interest and studying the breed, MOONCHOW was delighted to welcome our first Chow, a cream bitch Stella ‘Aus Champion Ersa Stellar’ to our family in 2018. As we began to campaign Stella in the WA show ring, we were then able to welcome Carter ‘Malaboo Frozen In Time (AI)’ (a red boy). 2021 was a big year for us as we welcomed Rogue ‘Australian Champion Sherae Dancin Red Fire Dragon’, Jean ‘Australian Champion Sherae Funky Monkey On Ice’ to our team. We also titled Margo ‘CH Timewolf All About Eve.’ In 2022 we titled Jean, Rogue, & America.

MOONCHOW chows have been consistently successful in the show ring, winning countless breed, group, and in show level awards between them. We ACTIVELY show our dogs.

We have the start of some fantastic proven Australian lines as well as imported lines from England & Europe. Here at MOONCHOW we aim to continue to better the quality of Chow in Australia . We do this through extensive health & temperament testing.

Here at MOONCHOW the dogs are our family. We do not raise our dogs in kennels. We ensure that our dogs are raised in a family environment. They live happily with young children, cats, and other animals.

Here at Katasia our goal is to preserve the qualities of this amazing; ancient breed.
We are located in Wollongong, and have been actively showing Chows since 2012 to prove that our Chows meet the breed standard. We are also active in the dog world and attend many events with our Chows promoting and educating on responsible dog ownership.

We ventured into breeding in 2016. We only usually have 1 or 2 litters per year and try to keep something for the show ring and our future breeding plans. Our adult Chows are all health tested prior to joining the breeding program which includes Hip/Elbow Scoring and ACES eye examinations.

Chowleigh Kennels was established in 1972 by Bob and Merle Williams and today is also helped by daughters Narelle and Claire. Chowleigh Kennels have imported 19 Chow Chows over the years from both the UK and USA. They are currently working with lines from both countries which have allowed them to produce quality examples of the breed and the pedigrees they work with and produce can be found in many foundation dogs of kennels around the country and in NZ. Consistently producing Best In Show and Group winners, Chowleigh Kennels ultimately aim to produce puppies which not only look great on the outside but are also healthy and sound. They have been hip scoring their breeding dogs since 1982 and elbow scoring since 1994 and hope to see the breed continue on its way to a long and healthy future. We have been breeding chows for over three decades.

Our emphasis is on developing chows with the best temperament to be companion pets. That being said, many of our pups are shown in conformation. Our chow pups are reared in-house and have the best possible start.

At 4 weeks, new chow parents are invited to visit our happy canine family and a pup is allocated.

Love for the Chow Chow breed has been a family tradition for nearly a century. My grandparents had their first Chow in 1936 and bred under the Kinleen Kennel name prolifically in the 1950’s. My parents bred in the 70’s and I carried forward that legacy from the1980’s.

The most important thing to me about breeding is to stay true to the dog, to do the best we can to breed healthy dogs; physically, mentally and socially.

I breed very selectively and only occasionally. Although I love my Chows, the breed is certainly not suited to everyone. A Chow Chow's disposition can be described as dignified and aloof, but don't mistake this for a lack of loyalty or affection. Once they form a bond with their human family, it's a bond for life.

I take great care in evaluating potential families to ensure that they are a good match for our puppies. My puppies are raised in our home with the interaction of our large family, grandchildren and friends. I prefer to sell to local people so they can see how their puppy has been raised and I can meet their adopted family.

I am a member of Dogs QLD and the puppies are registered, vaccinated, DNA tested and vet checked.

Hi I have been associated with Chows for over 20 years now. Have owned well been owned by Chows for a couple of years longer. I originally owned and bred Pomeranians so have only gone up in size.
My first contact with Chows was when I started to work with them at Sherae. So it was only a matter of time till I owned one.
I do not breed frequently but when I have my own bitch and she is old enough in my opinion it will only be once a year.
I am now owned by 4 Chows and I’m loving it
