Welcome to Blackwynne Working Line German Shepherds. Based in Colac, Victoria, Blackwynne was founded from a lifelong passion for the German Shepherd Dog — a passion first sparked in childhood while watching my father compete in obedience trials with our family dogs. Over the years, that passion has continued to grow through my admiration for the breed’s intelligence, loyalty, versatility and strong working ability. At Blackwynne, the focus is on breeding old-style German Shepherds with straight backs, heavy bone and strong, balanced temperaments. The aim is to produce dogs that excel in temperament, function, structure and intelligence, whether as loyal family companions or capable working dogs. The health and well-being of our dogs and puppies is always the highest priority. All breeding dogs are hip and elbow scored and DNA tested to help ensure the best possible health and genetic integrity. Puppies are raised in a stimulating, family-oriented environment and are well socialised to help them transition confidently into their new homes.
